Well, I'm leavin good Ol' H-Town in February to head to Saudi. I'm moving to the city of Jeddah. Anyone have any previous experiences, advice, suggestions, comments, etc... that they would like to offer? ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! What the hell are you moving there for when you already live in the best city in the world? No, seriously why are you moving? Just curious. I have a friend in the Air Force who is departing for Saudi Arabia in March. ------------------
My uncle lived in Saudi Arabia for a couple of years working as an engineer. The only thing I remember him saying is that Saudi Arabians are horrible drivers. They are aggressive and get in lots of accidents. Also, tf there's even just a tiny bit of rain, they will slow down to 10 km/hr and go around with their hazard lights flashing. Watch out on the roads! ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
10??? Dang. Anyways, I'm moving to Saudi because my dad's in webpage design and he got a big contract to do websites in Saudi.....long story. But were getting a big house, new cars, etc. It's all good. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! I lived in Norway for 3 1/2 years, but that's a lot different than Saudi, obviously. It's cool, and very different being somewhere else. It can make you appreciate home (US) a lot after you've been gone. Where will you be going to school down there? ------------------ "Any answer that can't be questioned is no answer at all. I'm gonna be living in Jeddah which is on the east side near some big river or lake or something (As you can tell I haven't studied Saudi ver much ) I think it's the Dead Sea. Anyways, I'm gonna be going to a US Embassy school so same curriculum, etc. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Oh, that's cool, an embassy school. I went to an International School in Norway. It'll be cool. You'll probably get to meet lots of people who have done lots of traveling around the world. I met one guy who had 5 passports ------------------ "Any answer that can't be questioned is no answer at all. It's gibberish. From my experience at ISS (International School of Stavanger), they're similar, but not quite the same. I don't know about your school specifically, but if it's anything like any of the International schools I visited or ISS, it's pretty nice. Like public school, but "nicer" . . . nicer buildings, better teachers (from my experience), more funding, and a more rounded curriculum. We had lots of theater and art . . . lots more than I ever had here in US. In fact, our director moved to Kuwait in 93 . . . maybe he's migrated to Saudi ------------------ "Any answer that can't be questioned is no answer at all. It's gibberish.
