CAN THE ROCKETS WIN 50 GAMES Ok there at 41 with 14 games to go i say yes will win 10 and end up 51-31 5th seed in playoffs
They need to go only 9-5 to get to the 50 win mark so unless they go into another slump (which i dont see happening) I see them easily getting there.
Let's see how they do on this road trip. They'll be the favorite in every game, but that's usually recipe for disaster with the Rockets.
CAN YOU POST THE THREAD TITLE WITHOUT USING ALL CAPS AND NOT INSERT A QUESTION MARK AT THE END OF A QUESTION ...sorry for the sarcasm
This is a pretty tough schedule against nothing but western conference teams but I think there is a chance to go 12-2. It will be a good barometer for the playoffs, if the Rox can go 10-4 or better with this schedule than I like our chances to go deep in the playoffs. IMHO it will depend upon how quickly the seeds get locked. With an older team, I can see JVG resting the team in the last 4 or even 5 games if we can't move up and the Grizz can't catch us. The one possible exception is the SEA game. I don't think it happens very often in the NBA where your final game is against your 1st round opponent...meaning there's a possibilty of playing them 8 straight games. That could go either way. You could throw in the towel deeming the game meaningless. Or you could chose to send a message. Discussing the possibility of 50 wins after a 6-11 start is a tribute to the team, the coaches and the management.

Considering we beat the Suns and Sonics last time, I think we can win those games. The Rox always get up for big games. But the two games following scare me. The Gizz and Nuggets will be tough games, IMO.
I don't care about 50 wins either if it means we lock up the seed and can afford to rest the guys for playoff.
That statement should read "after a CLUELESS 6-11 start" I agree whole heartedly. Rock's management have pulled the right strings at the right time to make this puppet really dance. however, there's still a kink or 2 left in the strings; so until they're worked out, this puppet isn't a work of art. 50 wins is a distinct possibility, but I won't dissapointed with 48.
Well, we could win 50 games this year. But the question is do we want to? If we could match up against Seattle or SAC w/o winning 9 games, we may not want to if it gives us a chance to rest T-Mac and Yao, while the other players can learn to gel together a little bit more. I know throwing some games is considered low...but if the Spurs didn't do it they wouldn't be the elite team in the league.
I love the Rockets but don't see it happening. We have a pretty brutal schedule and, like someone already stated, we might rest players if the seedings are determined. I hope we can, but can't be too optimistic
If we win 9 more; Yes. If we don't; No Anybody that tells you otherwise, doesn't know what they're talking about.
