Which is odd considering he didn't originate the role. I actually didn't mind the guy who played him in the first season.

I loved the episodes in which he interacts with Jack Klompus, especially when he gets impeached down in Florida. His rivalry with Frank Costanza was hilarious as well.

He is in a better place now.

    RIP +

i always thought a really wacky spin-off could have been made with the george and jerrys parents ending up living in the same condos in florida.

Exactly. My favorite line from Morty and Jack was when they had their arguements which always ended in BAHHHHH! I actually use that with my friends.

I wonder what happened to the first dad? I hope for his sake he was let go from the show and he didn't quit because he wanted to pursue other opportunities. Could you imagine the horror of leaving Seinfeld and all of the money he would have lost.

    RIP Morty.

That's actually a good question. What's interesting is that Frank Costanza was originally played by a different actor(who also passed away not too long ago) before Jerry Stiller took over the role.

Vandermeer and Lord were talking about this yesterday. "The Voice" had the audacity to say the last season wasn't very good and that the car dealership episode with Puddy sucked.

    That's blasphemy.

they just decided to recast the character, they said they wanted more of the "neurotic" energy that Barney brought to the cast.

also, the original Frank Costanza scenes were re-shot with Jerry Stiller...

so basically, the famous characters of Mr. Seinfeld and Costanza could have been completely different if not for casting changes, and the show is better off that way in the long run...
