Mermorial park is nice but so many runners and stuff...haven't seen a nice quiet area personally but i could be wrong.

Herman Park is always nice and chill

The Waterfalls is played out and old...nothing unique about that place.

I like the area by Allen parkway and Memorial area...near downtown...there are less joggers there a very nice view of Downtown and im sure it's pretty cool there....just my opinion....

I take all of my picnic dates to the Jefferson Davis Hospital picnic area. Very quiet.

Hermann Park on the hill. The picnic should lead you to make plans for later because that venue makes it easy to see destinations - the Miller Theatre later that night, nightclubs in Montrose, downtown skyline, Museums, the train, restaurants, hotels - it's just so easy to seque the conversation from places to personality to feelings.

It is very difficult to park in Hermann Park on a nice weekend. Everyone is there.

There is no trip that can't be made just a little bit better with a ride on light rail! :)

I did that once and came back to see someone had pounded a screwdriver into my driver-side lock. But, I'm not saying it's a bad idea in general.

Eleanor Tinsley Park (between Allen Pkwy and Memo from Shepherd to Downtown) is a great spot for a picnic, find an available parking spot and enjoy!
