Im not thinking it costs that much to stream it i still don't know why they don't....is that against there values or something?
Actually it is quite expensive as you have to pay for the stream in terms of time you are logged in and number of users logged in. So lets say one of us logs in to hear the audio at work and we leave it on all day and then forget to log off when we go home and it runs all night......lol...it could be a problem if they do not have a time-out function to force you to log in again periodically.
I tell ya... If I could get AM reception in my office, and if our firewall permitted it, I'd just park a microphone in front of my radio and send a Shoutcast stream out for each one of these interviews. It wouldn't be the greatest quality, but it would be something. that's how easy it is. -- droxford
Half way through the show, nothing has really stuck out. Said Braggs is an energy player but makes alot of mistakes. Gave props to Weatherspoon for recovering after those 2 airballs, and Wesley for his defense on Wade.
OH man.......JVG missed one of the trivia questions. It was which center is in the top 10 all time for steals? Of course the answer si our own beloved Hakeem...
you know what I'm going to say. So I will just say Dangit! ..........610! Anything else worth recaping in that interview?
I've only caught parts of it. So far... JVG did the the trivia thing and lost. They had a sound clip from Mutombo which made me laugh out loud because I couldn't understand a word he was saying - he just sounded like the cookie monster. JVG said that, when playing against Shaq, a team should adjust its roster to be able to adequately play Shaq appropriately: put one big guy on him and don't double-team him on the catch (it would open up a 3-pt shot). Wait til just after the catch to double-team. Said that playing Yao and Deke at same time would only be for minimal minutes in situation where rebounding is of utmost importance (said that tomorrow night's game will be such a situation).. commercial.... -- droxford
Won't play Yao and Deke together for too many minutes, although it gives us a rebounding edge it slows the team down and hurts us on the pick and roll coverage.
Even if that is the case do you think they don't have the money to do it and compete? do they really think that they will be okay with 790 streaming the audio and not losing listeners that will go to 790 to listen online when they can't do it on 610. The end result should matter not the initial cost to get it up and going...potential listeners is the problem. When they were the only station that is one thing..now there is competition and they need to keep up in my opinion.
I think Chance mentioned it before. They are not the one who refuse to stream, it's their parent company that don't allows it.
I don't see how this can be true. All they have to do is go buy a server from dell, cable it up to their audio, and then stream it out. All they'd have to pay for is bandwidth. There are thousands of teenage kids doing this at Shoutcast.com from their home computer and with their MP3 files. It's easy. It's cheap. I could set them up in half-a-day. I guess the brain-dead people at 610 don't have an IT guy working there. Edit: Ah.. now THAT'S a different story. If that's the case, I retract my 'brain-dead' comment. (Maybe they're not brain-dead. Or maybe they just don't have a feeding tube. I dunno). -- droxford
