This thread is a re-hash of a previous one, but it's almost lunchtime and I'm hungry, so here goes... Have you stumbled upon any great new Houston restaurants that you wish to share with the rest of us? The new restaurant I submit to you is.... Kenny & Ziggy's Delicatessen, on Post Oak Blvd. between Westheimer and San Felipe, in the Galleria area. Take it from a member of the Tribe, folks...this is the best deli the city of Houston has ever seen! Absolutely 100% authentic. This place is so good it drove Guggenheim's (another deli located across Post Oak) out of business. Check it out! Another new one for me is Pho Saigon on Milam in Midtown/Downtown. Pho is beef-based Vietnamese noodle soup, and it is perfect for wintery weather. Five bucks gets you a huge bowl of Pho, and it will keep you warm and full for the rest of the day. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
There's quite a few I could submit. But the restaurant I offer is 100% Taquito. This place is right across from The Summit. They offer "authentic" Mexico City tacos which are small and served 3 to an order. They have several types to choose from, all are very good, my favorite being the chipotle beef. I would however discourage you from ordering the quesadillas as they are not quesadillas in the sense you are probably familiar with, cheese in a tortilla, served flat. These quesadillas are basically a taco with cheese. Their sides are tasty, black beans, rice and they have this corn that is spiced up and tastes real good! They also serve beer and soft drinks. It looks like they have a margarita machine, but have never had one. I'd give this place a try. The prices are inexpensive and the food is pretty good. RH...I've been to 100% Taquito. Damn good food, very cheap and very convenient for before/after Rocket's games. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
Has anyone ever tried Tonys or Anthonys? Also does anyone know of a really romantic restaurant? ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! I've been to both places, and both are a nice place for romance. My two favorite romantic restaurants in town are La Colombe D'Or and the Rainbow Lodge. Take her to either one of those places and you are in like Flynn, guar-on-teed! ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
you so funny. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
Tex are they worth checking out or are they just "nice"? Also if someone missed the last restaurant thread. My favorite is Fogo De Chao. A Brazilian steakhouse. If you love steak you have to go here. ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! To point out individuals or teams that have managed to reach the pinnacle of SUCKINESS!!!!! ----- Rudy T SUCKS! Both Tony's and Anthony's are great restaurants and worth checking out. For a romantic night out, however, I would choose La Colombe D'Or or the Rainbow Lodge. Both of those places have great food and a romantic atmosphere. To me, Tony's and Anthony's are louder and more for a business dinner out rather than a romantic dinner out. Just my opinion. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
If you go to La Colombe D'Or, check out the crown molding in the dining rooms -- I antiqued it (I hope the job hasn't been redone since then). Also, if you happen to be renting one of the rooms upstairs, my father did the murals so be sure to give them a good look-over (his web-page (see my sig) may have photos of them; I'm not sure). ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
