I was a little upset at the two losses, but I knew it was coming. It seems this team always loose at least two games in a row. The bright side is that lately they have followed that up with long winning streaks. With the way the rest of the games look and feeling the Rox can't get any lower, I feel another winning streak is about to happen. I know Clutch hasn't placed the sticky for the Heat game, but I will go out and say that not only will the Rox beat the Heat they will win the rest of thier games this month to start another streak!
Like I said in the Celtics game thread, I fully expected us to have a lackadasical effort in Minny and I fully expect that we will really put up a strong fight against Miami. However, I think we are headed for loss #3 in a row. Our perimeter shots aren't falling and our offense is getting jammed up too much. Besides that Juwon did more for us defensively and offensively than we would like to give him credit for. He was almost automatic from 15 to 18 feet and he was a bigger cog to our defense and rebounding than we can replace with the likes of Spoon and Padgett. That leaves Yao more vulnerable to fouls and our team more susceptible to bad nights on the interior. I think Shaq is probably gonna torch us pretty good tomorrow.
the thing that bothers me is that even in our recent losses (before our last two) we were right in there, fighting and looking like we had a chance. in the last two games, we looked like we knew we were going to get beat. with miami next it doesn't look like it will get better anytime soon. at least sacto and memphis lost last night. i believe that after the week we had last week, we now have a target on our backs. teams are going to play us like we are the defending champions. as if this team didn't rise enough this year...we have to take it to the next level already.
I think that we are in a very tricky spot right now. The Spurs just lost Tim Duncan for around 16 games. This will give the Mavs a reasonable chance to catch the Spurs before the regular season ends(6.5 games back). We have that same chance, but it is much more difficult for us(11.0 games back). I think that we would have to win the rest of our regular season games to get the 2nd seed in the west. If we do make this push and miss it we will likely face the Spurs in the first round as the 5 seed. Tricky decision: Go for the throat and risk a tough first round or lay back now and face the Sonics?
