would you rather see the Most histerical movie ever, the most scary movie ever, the most moving love story movie ever, the best action movie ever, or the best special effects ever. NO you cant have them all in one. what kind of person are you is what this question is really asking. I prefer humor. it makes life better. always ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Are you asking what Genre we are, or which of the best-ofs we would pick. If you make me pick just one from my list of "bests ever", it's hands-down Dr. Strangelove for me...so, I guess that makes me a humor fan.

For me my favorite would have to be either Love & Death or Manhattan... so I guess I'm a comedy guy... I've probably been more moved by movies like Life Is Beautiful (comedy to tragedy not a tragicomedy) but I certainly don't watch those movies as much as classics like Manhattan. Has anybody ever seen His Girl Friday? That movie ruled. ------------------ You don't normally see a shot-blocker out there shooting 3s like that. - Matt Bullard
Achebe - Very good choices. His Girl Friday with Cary Grant, right? Great film, really funny. It was actually remade twice. Once in the 70's as The Front Page with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau (a classic) and once in the 80's as Switching Channels with Burt Reynolds, Kathleen Turner and Christopher Reeves (a stinker). I'm a comedy buff also. Movies like Stripes, Annie Hall and The Birdcage are at the top of my list but comedy is for sure my favorite genre followed by action and drama. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
My favorite movie doesn't really fit into any of those. My favorite movie is Gattaca, which is really more of an inspirational drama. But of the list that you gave, I guess I would rather see the funniest movie ever. "Pablo Naruda says that laughter is the language of the soul" "I am familiar with the works of Pable Naruda" ------------------ She hates testicles, thus limiting the men she can admire to Democratic candidates for president. -- John Greenway, "The American Tradition", on feminist Elizabeth Gould Davis
Exactly Jeff... I had to look at the video box 20 times to make sure that the film was really done in 1928 (using the theory "people were funny back then?" ). I am still amazed by its pure comedic genius. That film could come out now, w/o any bad language or haughty sex (though some risque jokes) and still win an Academy Award. Definitely one of my top 25 movies of all time. Have you had a chance to see Dancer in the Dark yet Jeff? I think that you'd really like it. ------------------ You don't normally see a shot-blocker out there shooting 3s like that. - Matt Bullard
I would put Gattaca in as a futuristic-drama, great movie btw.... Favorite movies and shows are ALWAYS comedies.. Stripes and Dr. Strangelove are a couple of my alltime favorites.. Caddyshack Airplane Movies Monty Python movies any movie with Lemmon and Matthau, Cheech and Chong movies The Naked Gun (the series and the movies) I could go on all day...but I won't. Also Love Sci-Fi.. Geeze, what do these preferences say about me I wonder? I guess my perfect movie SHOULD be Mars Attacks! then ------------------ Give It To Moochie! Achebe: I haven't seen Dancer in the Dark. Sadly, I am a big movie buff but not much of a big screen buff. I tend to be a renting and buying type of guy. I'll definitely keep that on my rental list. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
Achebe: My brilliant wife (she is like an encyclopedia of pop culture!!!) just mentioned something to me. His Girl Friday wasn't done in 1928. It was actually a remake of the original film, "The Front Page" made in 1931. His Girl Friday came out in 1940. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
ooooooppps. I don't know where the '28 came from. It's even cooler to find out that it's even a remake. ------------------ You don't normally see a shot-blocker out there shooting 3s like that. - Matt Bullard
Oh yeah, I guess I should have also looked at the box a few more times. ------------------ You don't normally see a shot-blocker out there shooting 3s like that. - Matt Bullard
For a genre I'd have to pick action, but my fav movies all vary. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
My favorite movie of all time is ID4. I love action + special effects. But I would have to go with drama as my favorite genre. Movies like Gandhi, Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan and Ten Commandments (i think it would be classified as a drama) are some of my absolute favorites. ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! Switching Channels wasn't that bad. It was the third worst of the four versions (there was a version of The Front Page before the Cary Grant one), but I still thought it was funny enough to be enjoyable. I'm a comedy man myself. I enjoy dramas and other movies, but I'll always line up for the comedy first. ------------------ Houston Sports Board The Anti-Bud Adams Page
