    Okay folks I spied these measurements for Malick on another board. I do not know the source so I can't post it. But, if they are true is anyone else on the board concerned about him wasting away in Germany? I know he is young, raw and all those other adjectives so often posted here. But Jesus, if these stats are even near right it is no wonder that he has sparked so much imagination and emotion in this board. Give a look!
    =================================================
    Height: 6'11" (according to current listings)
    Weight: 240 (according to current listings)
    Wingspan: 7'05" (same as Yao, 1" less than Mutombo)
    Standing Reach: 9'05" (Yao's is 9'7")
    Vertical Leap: 38" (Amare's vertical is also 38}

    Amare's last measured height was 6'10 3/4", and he has a 7'2" wingspan. Amare's reach is 9'1", and he has the same 38" vertical.
    =================================================

    His shortcoming is probably footwork and lack of BB knowledge but IIRC from a short excerpt of a video of him working out with his coach he has no lack of drive, desire and will to succeed (Plus a little mean streak). I don't know if he is a pogo stick jumper like Rodman or takes awhile to wind up to jump. These are all things we can not see until he gets here. But, if you can get your arm up over 3' above the rim there is a good chance to get a rebound or block a shot.

    I saw on this board that we could get him back from Germany even though he signed a long term contract with him. Might as well get him back now as wait. Could he really be worse than Vinny.

    I don't know about this year, but hopefully by next we will see him in a Rox uni.

    Hopefully... he will be worth the wait.:D

    I think if Rockets pick up someone now, it will be for the playoff, so it's more like a short-term move. Malick is more for the long run. Plus, I heard on this board that to be eligible to play in playoff, the new player has to be in NBDL or a free agent in NBA before March. 1st.

    If the rox could get Badman on the roster he would instantly be our best pf and put up 15 and 10 easy.

    But unfortunately, JVG doesn't play or develop rookies. Also Sura would never pass the ball to him, rather jack up shots and play keep away with TMac.

    :mad:

    If we want to win champonship, must get Badman. Also get Boki back. Ashley Judd cheering from sidelines would be nice as well ... alkdjflj

    I haven't been so anxious to see a guy play on our team since Yao. Guy is a giant question mark, but damn, if that's not a near perfect body for basketball, it's close. You can be darn sure his creator didn't intend him to be a plumber.

    Come to think of it I believe your right, he would ineligible for the playoffs. But, he might help us get there, and JHo will be back hopefully.
    The experience he picks up in the stretch run would good for him maybe. What have we got to lose.

    Bring him over and teach him how to "dunk". Jump shots etc can come later, all he has to do is dunk!

    Badman just needs to learn how to stay away from the 18 ft on offense and move his feet inside the paint on defense and offense and he'll do well

    I agreed with you guys. No harm in bringing Badman here for some games.

    His job is simple, defend & rebound. Yao will find Badiane easily with some freakish atheletic dunk inside.

    he was 19 when we drafted him, so instead of him wasting away on our bench developing, we opted to let him stay where he was and actually get playing time

    The real debate here is whether he is really developing there or just wasting prime years there when he could be learning here. Look how much Yao has apparently learned this year playing with Deke.

    Did you not read the first post???!!??!!?

    He is phsycially the same or better than Amare. That means 20 and 9 will be easy, not 15 and 10.

    Learn to read. Loser.

    ???

    His blocked shots are the same, his rebounding is down, and his fouls are up... He seems like the same player he was last year, except without a PF like Cato to help him out defensively.

    Get real people. If Badaine was a 20 and 10 waiting to happen he would have been here at the start of the season. There's a reason he was selected in the second round and why he still plays in Germany.

    'dumbholly' : 'o3gs' IIRC. Some folks here bashed him pretty good and I think he pulled out.

    'Xerobull' : You'll just have to Google him. A few people around don't like to talk about him. There are a few old posts are around if you have search.
