"After we got Tracy, I thought that was a good trade. After more than 50 games, I know it was a good trade. An inside player and an outside player, that's the way to build a team." - Yao Ming

Trust me, if firing D'Antonio would get Yao, then D'Antonio is gone.

Um... Lakers ran off one of the greatest centers of all time. Yao would be a fool if he thinks the Lakers would be more loyal to him than the Rockets has been.

Nice try, but I'm sure you just took that quote severely out of context. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Yao said that after Rudy became ill. I'll also bet that quote was made before Rudy was released as coach. If you can provide me the source of that quote which proves otherwise, I'd love to see it.

Boy do you have outdated quotes:rolleyes:

May be you should glean what he said about the trade LATER ON! (you know, the one about that he though it was a good trade when it happened, but now 50 games in, he KNOWS that it was a good trade. And now he knows this trade will make him a winner)

Boy edc, you just hate JVG and anything that has to do with the current Rockets, don't you? I see your sig is as outdated as your quotes.

Yao will stay, if he leaves, then come back and tell me "I told you so!".

Plus, if Yao wanted to leave, we would still sign him to a max contract and then trade him. Now, do you know who we can get for Yao i nthe league today? almost ANYONE you crave for! So no worries, the Rockets are in a prime position whether he stays or leaves.

But that won't even be an issue since Yao will never even think about leaving. So everyone, please, stop the hysteria.

The organization should've gone to Yao and discussed the Francis deal with him instead of leaving him out of the loop. Treat him like Olajuwon was treated. Don't give him the power to veto trades, but he should have input.

Yao Ming might leave, he might not. All I'm saying is that the Rockets haven't done much "above and beyond" to engender loyalty from the guy.

    A. What was Yao supposed to say? "I'm glad they left, they never folloewed the plays and never passed me the ball anyway."
    B. So what do the rockets do if he veto's? Does Yao fully understands the potential benefits of getting a McGrady type player?

It was said before the RT firing, but after he had announced his intentions to return the following season.

    (1) "Playing with Steve and Cuttino was great, but you do not often get the chance to play with a player of Tracy McGrady's caliber."

    (2) It is the job of management to make sure their star player understands AND AGREES with moves. "It's just business" is no way to engender loyalty.

For some reasons, the Suns hate us. Their fans hate us to their bones. Visit their fans message board if you want to get a taste of it. Fans of other teams would give us credits after we have soundly beaten their teams. But after we have totally destroyed the Suns last week, those idiots were so bitter and still saying things like 'it's only one game', 'Tmac is greedy' (even though he had tons of assists in that game), 'Yao is soft' (even though he had 22 rbs and blocked Amare 5 times), etc. I know we had a not that friendly history with the Jazz. But where is the hate of the Suns fans from?

The Rockets didn't have to do that, but they did call Yao before made that trade, that's according to Yao's source.
