I was watching Fox 26 sports earlier and they asked Gundy on his thoughts of Johnny Davis being fired.

He basically said that coaches are not always the problem when a team is on a skid, and that why shouldn't the GM (Weisbrod) take responsibility of the fact they are not doing to well.
    ----------------

I agree with Gundy because Weisbrod was the one who traded Mobley away for Christie, signed Howard instead of Okafor, and yet they still aren't contenders. So why should the coach have to take the blame for a team not doing to well, while its the GM making all the moves.

Van Gundy has always been quite loyal to his fraternity.

    Plus **** Weisbrod, y'know?

I think they drafted well. Dwight Howard is looking like he'll be a real star at his position in a few years. Okafor will be too, but Howard's peak will be much higher than Okafor's.

IMO, their biggest mistake was trading Mobley. They got nothing (pretty much literally nothing) for him, and no matter what your feelings about him, they were a better team with him than they've been with Christie, whenever Christie plays (rarely).

We all knew that Weisbrod was a moron during the summer, after the way he did the whole McGrady thing, and now everyone else has figured it out too. It's so funny, early in the season, people were talking about what a great job he'd done in Orlando, and how his "tough-nosed" attitude is just what the franchise needed, and now look at how things have gone. People have figured him out for the idiot that he is, and CD is the one getting all the respect.

It's not as if Van Gundy could've said anything else. He can't come out and say Johnny Davis suck and was fired a year too late.

Seems to me like there's a difference in JVG's tone between this comment and the ones on Mo Cheeks. JVG was certainly much more angry at that firing. He probably realizes that Davis actually deserves to be fired. While Cheeks was simply in a bad situation.

Davis actually deserved to be fired IMO. He went publicly/to the media one too many times about in-house issues. And he spoke out too much about the whole TMac thing. Why are you going to criticize your own player publicly without having a talk with him first? Unprofessional.

Good for Gundy. The saga of the McGrady trade won't be complete till Weisbrod is fired.

Weisbrod was a GM in the NHL right? Looking at the way he has managed the Magic, no wonder the NHL went under.

No, he was a GM in the AHL, the NHL's MINOR league, I think his team sucked.

LOL! Yah, come to think of it, JVG should have taken it a step further and questioned as to why the owner didn't fire himself for hiring such an incompetent weisass:D
