I believe Chris Jent was on Rockets roster in 1993-94 season when he won the championship. He was a younger version of Matt bullard. Could shoot 3s if you left him open but did nothing else. I remember in playoffs that year, in the game that hakeem got his MVP trophy, Hakeem passed it to Jent for an open 3 pointer and he passed it. Hakeem told him to take the open shot next time. Sure enough, next time around, he got the same shot, shot it, and made it, getting a high five from Hakeem. That was the high point of Chris Jent's career. :D

On second though, I think I confused Chris Jent with Chris Jent. Nevermind! :D

Still living in those championship years.

The good news is Francis will be back in town in time to see the Rockets in the playoffs.

Oh man, reading those old threads was hilarious. I looooove the Sentinal article a quarter of the season in when the Magic were 4 games over .500 and the Rockets were 5 games under. It was all because of Me-Mac and Jeff Van Gundy would be the first coach fired in this season.

Now it looks like Weisbrod's days are numbered and the Rockets are red-****ing-hot. The greatest part is that we SAW IT ALL COMING.

Weisbrod can at least take comfort in the fact that he had nothing to do with the T-Mac trade. That one was ALL T-Mac.

    This thread is awesome.

In addition to Weisbrod, the Orlando Sentinel has got to be eating a LOT of crow here. I love these quotes:

Rockets are 6th in the West - pushing for 5th or even 4th, with a record of .609 , we're 14 games over .500. We've won 15 of our last 19 games - including an 8-game winning streak, and a currently running 6-game winning streak including consecutive wins against 4 of the top 5 teams in the West. Magic are at .484 - 2 games below .500 - In the EAST! They're on a 6-game losing streak and are currently not ranked to make the playoffs.

Davis is the one who got fired. Van Gundy will probably be a candidate for coach of the year, and every Rocket player is saying that JVG is, by far, the best coach they've every played for.

This is completely false, as as Chad Ford points out: Sources told Insider over the weekend that Davis' approach was too "soft" for Weisbrod. While Weisbrod agreed with Davis' coaching philosophy, he didn't think he commanded enough respect in the locker room. When Davis would say something to Steve Francis, for example, Francis, on more than one occasion, would just ignore it. Davis' inability to get through to his mercurial point guard, in particular, probably did him in.

And Christie has been worthless on the Magic while Mobley has been on fire in Sac (as he was in Orlando before being traded).

I could go on and on. The Orlando sentinel guys (Mike Bianchi and Brian Schmitz) are complete morons!

Hahahaha, I hope Weisbrod appoints himself head coach of Orlando. Lets see how big this guy's ego is.

But if he stuck with Hockey, he would be out of job now as NFL is gone. ;)

I still wish the kid the best whatever team he goes to. Though he is getting a little too old to be called a kid.

I think Orlando sticks with him. They stuck with John Gabriel for years, and he was nearly as bad (just not as annoying).

All those people ripping my article from October were fine, it's the types that kept defending the Magic in February that got to me. The Magic are what they are, just like I said in the preview: better than a 21-win team, but not much more. This isn't a "slump." They're two games below .500 now, and what do they have next year? Soon-to-be 29 year old Francis making max money, alongside fading vets with Howard years away from his (brilliant) prime.

Other than that, let me just state that, Gotdamnit, I hate it when Ford quotes lameass TV shows.
