I can't possibly concieve that we, as a whole, have decided that Pink freakin Floyd is the second best band ever. So I ask: Is this entire BBS on Acid, or did some "finagling" happen in the brackets... I let you decide. Coup! Coup! Coup!

you are really having problems with this aren't you. IMO it doesn't matter who cam in second. It only matters who won. In every bracket somebody has a bad seeding. Who knows how far a band would have come if it didn't have to compete with the beatles. It also doesn't matter. It only matters who won.(and even that is not importent, it is just for fun you know that right, they do not get money for it or eternal fame ) but to awnser your questiopn do i think pink floyd is the second best bad: No i do not for me the top 3 are: Queen Beatles Dire Strait(ok maybe not third but i like that band alot)
Most of the time my vote ended up being for the loser. At least in this poll I am thus far in the majority.

Pink Floyd is a great band, but to say that they are the 2nd best band ever is a total joke. The two best bands ever in my opinion: 1) Led Zeppelin 2) CCR
It depends on what era you were raised in. I am in my late 30's and personally thought PF was better than the groups they were matched against. The separate matches are subjective and I might have selected another group had the match-up been different. I have always loved Pink Floyd. My dad played the early albums when I was a kid and when I hear their music, I feel good. Those that blatantly blast them don't understand their music.
It's not that we don't understand the music, it's that when we hear it feels like we're in a boredom induced coma. And they ripped off those little kids who sang on their album, what a bunch of jerks.
When I lived in Houston, I thought the radio stations over played FLoyd. Classic Rock stations in vegas seem to do the same thing with Queen for some reason. I was at the Bellagio several years ago to go see a friend of a friend who played piano at one of the lounges. A group of cowboy dressed folks came in the lounge gave him some money and he starts playing DSOTM and throwing in some songs from the wall to boot. After he finished his set he goes and talks to the people and thanks them. He then comes over to our table to talk with his friend and I ask him where the people were from, he says Houston. I never understood Houston radio station's pre occupation with Floyd or Duran Duran.
Pink Floyd is great. My second favorite band after Led Zeppelin. You need to accept that different people like different things.
