Seattle 3 43 20 Dallas 4 41 22 Sacramento 5 40 25 Houston 6 39 25 It's almost a must-occur that we exceed kings. But how about seattle and dallas? I smell a good chance we may become the 4th or even 3rd seed. Anyone else?
We could still get a better record than Seattle and have homecourt advantage should we play them in later rounds.
we're 4.5 games behind seattle and the way they've been playing it will be extremely difficult to catch up to them. the rockets would literally have to win each game from here on out OR seattle just go into a crazy freefall and i dont think either will happen (actually hoping the first part will ) dallas we're 2.5 games behind and with their injury problems with dampier and now stackhouse being out there could be an outside chance we catch up to them, but looking at their remaning schedule i expect them to finish out well but 2.5 games is managable but the rockets will have to continue to play strong. Sac .5 games they still have a lot of talent the webber trade is providing them a lot of depth but needing two buzzer-beaters at home to beat the grizz and clips is not a good sign. they still win but i expect them to drop to the 6th seed an outside chance of the 7th. expect the rockets in the 5th, but if they keep playing like they have been the past month the 4th seed is not a far-fetched idea at all
Don't we play two more games against the Sonics? If we win both, that's only 2.5 games behind them... seems doable.
It's going to be close with us and the Mavs fighting for the 4th seed. I think we'll get it with a few games to spare. Go Rockets!!!
One thing you forget is the teams ahead of us are all playing .500+ basketball all season long. Unless some of them collapse, it is very difficult to catch them with only ~20 games left. Plus, we have a tougher remaining schedule than the Kings & the Mavs. 5th seed sounds about right, 4th will be great, 3rd is just a dream.
can someone explain to me what the difference between the 4th and 5th seed would be. don't they play each other anyway? does the 4th seed get homecourt?
I predicted before the season that #5 was likely our ceiling (since we weren't about to win our division as long as Duncan's around, and Mavs would lock #4), but we should be good for that or a #6. Sac is certainly going to drop like a stone, but we also have to weather the loss of Howard for what's likely going to be the rest of the regular season. Games left against teams above us in the standings: 6 (half on the road) Games left against teams below us in the standings: 12 (half at home) Not a terrible schedule. Evan
we have a nice chance to move up tonight without playing. portland and GS have to win tonight. i will be rooting for them all the way.
Must occur passing the Kings? Not so sure. Griz is on our azz, and we have tough games coming up. Just want us keep the 6th spot.
