How come he only has a 1 year min contract. I knew he has performed way below expectactions since coming in the league--but he wasn't totally unproductive a few years ago. Health? Attitude? Or does he suck this bad? He will be an URFA next year, so should we consider a 2 year min contract with the Rockets? We will need a future back up 4 to replace Spoon at a fraction of the cost..
He blew out his knee twice and was basically out of a job last summer. The Bucks picked him up for the vet minimum. Now he's proven that he's healthy, I expect him to get a bigger contract next year. Fizer is a poor man's MoT (if that's even possible). He can score in the post but isn't a very good rebounder and has the reputation of a ball hog. I don't think that he's the type of four that the Rockets are looking for.
Thanks for the update. Certainly not the kind of back-up I would be looking for either, but if all else falls through I guess using part of the 1.6 exemption in a 2 year deal as an option. Nah, screw that, might as well go with Spoon and Padget for Spoons last year if that was the case. Hopefully we can do much better.
Fizer just isnt a very good player and was a TERRIBLE draft pick by the Bulls being picked as high as he was. That was Krumbs Krause's response to not getting Miles in the draft.
Sure it is. Look at all the other ****ty PFs who weren't able to wrestle a $48 million dollar contract out of a team. There are a lot of poor man's MoTs.
Well in fairness the 2000 draft was a total dog, considering that the rookie of the year was Mike Miller. However what is funny about that Fizer pick (remember, the Bulls had Elton Brand at the 4 spot) was that I recall a lot of people in Chicago back when I lived there were speculating (and it seemed to me as well) that Krause picked Fizer out of spite so that the Clippers (who had Atl's lotto pick also that year I think but ended up trading it back to the Hawks somehow) couldn't pick him later so that they could pair him with Miles in their frontcourt. Krause really had a hard-on for Miles and somehow thought of him as "their" prospect I guess since he was an Illinois high schooler. ( ironically - Brand went to the Clippers the next year so that they could draft the Baby-bulls).
