Just when we were all getting accustomed to nightly PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION NEWS FLASHES, Democratic National Committee chairman Ed Rendell went and advised Al Gore to concede just because the Supreme Court kicked his ass [Per the obviously biased FOXNews Network]. What kind of attitude is that? ****in' quitter! KEEP FIGHTING! Appeal! Claim the somewhat warm weather in Florida discouraged displaced Yankees from voting in full force. Claim Jeb Bush was down there pissing on ballots on election night. Claim the Republicans reverse-engineered their victory from the wreckage at Roswell. Claim SOMETHING! How the hell else are we going to prolong this election into next year...? [This message has been edited by BrianKagy (edited December 12, 2000).]
You won. Go ahead and gloat. Fine. At least line up and shake my hand as we run off the court. *sound of hacking up a phlegm-ball and spitting* [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited December 12, 2000).]
LOL ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!
Sarcasm doesn't become you Brian. Congrats to President Select Dubya ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.'
Was that scarcasm or attempted political humor, BK? In other words, how would you have reacted if I have said all that about Bush? <the obligitory smilie, BK! ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
Dubya says he's the great uniter. Time to put the rubber to the road. Let's give the yahoo a chance. If he can't get anything done, he'll go down as the Zippy the Pinhead of the Oval Office and be beaten by Wilbur the Mule in 2004. If he actually does some good, well..... Let the games begin. Time passes, and let's see what it brings us. As Bob Dylan once said... "Only time will tell who has fell and who's been left behind...when you go your way and I go mine" ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
Where do you see me saying that if you want to "be a good Democrat" you have to hold stupid, prejudiced, and hypocritical political beliefs? That's the key difference here. I'm not attributing anything to Rendell that his actions don't warrant.
Kagy: The original post in question was political humor. Ok, in your eyes it was bad political humor, but a joke nonetheless. I did not post it to attack anyone on this board, I posted it so that anyone who may find it funny can read it. If Bill Maher or Jay Leno would have used any of those lines, he would have gotten laughs from some and boos from others. If you don't like what they have to say, you turn the channel. rimbaud said it best: So let's take that line and compare it to your post. BK: "...the Supreme Court kicked his ass [Per the obviously biased FOXNews Network]... The Supreme Court decided in Bush's favor. An extreme way of saying that is "kicked his ass". Also, the FOXNews is biased, but to say obviously biased is extreme. BK: "...the somewhat warm weather in Florida discouraged displaced Yankees from voting in full force..." For Rendell to say that would have been an extreme reach, to the point of comical. BK: "...Claim Jeb Bush was down there pissing on ballots on election night. Claim the Republicans reverse-engineered their victory from the wreckage at Roswell..." Same as above. My point of this post is not to attack you because you are Republican. It is simply to point out a double standard. You told me: BK: "...I'm tired of the ham-fisted, half-assed attempts to compress a political party's platform into tired monologue-style jokes.....I'm just mostly sick at people who regard politics as nothing more than a wellspring of silly jokes...." Which brings me back to my question to you: Was your post sarcasm or political humor? ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
