lol Shawn Marion's comment made me laugh-- "As of right now, it depends on what you define MVP as and how you define it."
" . . back in my day . . . " Old Man I bet all of them beleived it. Etiquette be d*mn . .. I hate the SPORTSTALK the sports equivalent of Political Correctness It suck *ss "What did you think of the obvious foul that was not called" - reporter "Well . . I don't know. . . Maybe he did not have the angle." - Player "If cost you the championship .. .how does that make you feel" - reporter "Well . . you know . . it happens" - Player "What about the player that beat you down at half court" -reporter "These things happen in the heat of battle. . but he is a good competitor and we got caught up in the moment" "It was at half time and he just came and hit you." - reporter "Well, you know. . emotions run high . . " That sh*t is more annoying than anything in the world Rocket River Say what ya feel
Amare still has a lot maturing to do, but let's not forget our very own star, Tracy Mcgrady, used to toot his own horn quite a bit while he was in Orlando.
Am I the only one that dislikes the Suns? Seems like their whole organization is made of large ego whining b!tches. From their coach to their players. Nash is probably the only guy with some class in that team. Makes you really appreciate the humble bunch we have here in the Rockets organization.
maaan, after seeing that, i just see amare's head is just overblown balloon and i wanna pop it with a freakin needle. he wants to be mvp, ok, lets give him a team with just role players and lets see if he can give that team a championship then he can point to himself about being named mvp! dude, when nash was gone, he had a hard time carrying the suns. not an mvp type imo.
I think thats a main reason Amare doesnt seem to be as embraced by the fans. There is something about him that fans dont like.. Still a great player and alot of upside but he needs some PR work. What really drew me to Yao and some of the other young guns.. Lebron, DWade, Okafor was their humility and respect.. I think it was that humility and respect that made Yao a fan fav. here in the states. J
Wade and Okafor have had the benefit of college to mature them. I bet LeBron probably has a big ego as well. He just hides it well because he's had an agent around him since an early age to train him how to talk to the media. Amare really hasn't been nurtured the way those guys have. Father was dead at an early age. His mother and brother were in and out of jail while he was growing up. He’s had it a lot tougher than most players in the NBA, so it’s understandable that he’s a little immature.
they're so freakin cocky. between amare's comments and their not giving us any credit for the win a couple days ago, the Suns are officially my most hated team.
Really?? well "the MVP" Amare has a total of 9 pts so far in the Phoenix-Nuggets game , and its already well into the 4th quarter.
i actually do not agree with this. If somebody has been trough alot and had a tough youth, then they are (mostly) more mature then others. So i do not think that Immaturity bacause of a tough youth is the problem. that being said i do not care if he think he can be the MVP. he plays great basketbal, and i think alot of posters here underestmate him(mostly because they are still mad because He won the ROY). i do not think he is MVP, and if i were him i would have not said my own name when asked about MVP candidates.(maybe saying duncan would be good) But who cares. IMHO people care to much about the personalities of players. I watch basketbal because i like the sport. Not because i want to see 10 very friendly people. I do not expect a player to be very smart or have a strong opinion on anything. They can play basketbal very good, but that doesn't mean they are perfect. (Why do people need others to look up to???). to quote the always smart and humble Charles barkley:\ just because i can shoot a basketbal very good, doesn't mean that i need to raise your children(not sure if this were the exact words but the outline is correct).
Not if his hamstring stays the way it is. Last night was literally the first time in a month that he was able to break the 20 point mark, and he's been getting eaten on D (even for him). I agree, he probably is still the favorite right now, but his stock is falling. If Miami and SA finish the season with better records, it'll be tough to ignore Wade or Duncan, both of whom carry their team at least as much as Nash, if not more so. Evan
Ug, just when I was starting to like Amare, he gives me a new reason to not like him. He is a freak, but he isn't in the MVP tier of players.
