Well... that's what happens when you die. They don't let you finish your projects. Seriously, that was the worst dichotomy in the history of film making. One of the greatest directors of films about human spirit overcoming every obsticle does a movie written and intended to be directed by one of the greatest directors of films about the way in which every human being is dehumanized and beaten down by the world around him. It didn't know whether it was comming or going.

The xf for the first Dune were bad. The mini series was Ok, as was the children of dune mini series. The main problem is that Dune can be so much more than the first two attempts.
I think the first Dune was bad because of all the voice overs - that was really a lame way to try and explain the story. The main problem with translating Dune is that there is too much material to cover. You either have to make a 3 part movie / 3 hours each (i.e., LOTR) or you put in a lot of stupid voice overs so you can quickly explain all the plot details in a two hour span.
i agree. **Spoiler for COD** However The Mini serie of COD was not to good IMHO. I didn't like the fact that it was so clear that the Prophet was indeed Paul. In the book it wasn''t that clear. They shouldn't have shown his face. IMHO. besides that it was good. (my girlfriend didn't knew the book and she watched the mini series with me, and she tought it was very difficult to understand. I think the mini serie was made for people who already knew the book)
