I disagree. I hope someone puts it on his locker in big bold print. Get the big fella mad. He could use some anger.

 

Sonics' strategy for tonight will be Yao-a-Hack, which means getting Yao into foul troubles... contrary to Hack-a-Shaq...

Hopefully JVG will keep Yao on the floor so that somehow Yao will know how to get through and not taking more fouls...

 

I honestly don't know what he is referring to? Yao's outside shot, if anything, has been worse this year, and his post up game really hasn't improved. The difference is that (1) he gets better post position because he does understand that part of the equation more and some effective play calling, and (2) he really is the receipient of a lot more drive and dish passes than he has been in the past.

All-in, I don't see how Yao's stepped up his game this year. Though he's clearly right about the foul trouble thing.

I don't think he was talking about which player is better. He just meant he hates to play the running game of Amare.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that a player would openly admit that he can't stop another player who he is going to play against the next day.

Yao sure knows how to keep scores. Did you guy see how he responded when Danny Fortson tried to be dirty? Yao got mad and dunked in his grill.

His quality game against James speaks for itself - James respects Yao's ability.

Yao has the mean streak in him like we have seen many times like tonight against fortson, against Ben Wallace and that former Atlanta center now with Portland.

The only problem is that Yao only brings out his mean streak when he is pissed rather than by default like the other greats.

Also once Yao feels like he is "good enough" to carry the team on a consistent basis, he will start becoming consistently dominant like he does for the Chinese national team. In the CNT, he knows he is the best player hence he imposes himself more - he needs to start having that swagger as a Rocket as well because he is one of the best here too.
