Just wanted to tell everyone about the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament the Rockets are holding at the Toyota Center on April 2-3. They're expecting 300 teams in all different skill levels, plus free contests, prizes, and appearances by the Rockets players. It only costs $99 to register, which includes 4 tickets to the Rockets/Suns game that weekend. Here's the link to the info on the Rockets website. Should be a fun weekend. http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/BIG_Blacktop_Battle_3__on__3-129985-822.html
Yea me and my friends were planning on going but we had other things to do so we changed our minds. It comes with tickets to a rockets game and other stuff so its not that bad of a deal. I dont think we could have hanged with the higher elite players anyway so no big loss. BTW. We are Indian but not ocp
I wonder what the competition is going to be like or how they will break down the teams. They got over-the-hill must take breather halfway in between points division?
The divisions are awful for kids as they have ages 10-12 lumped in one group. I was planning on bringing my team until I saw this. I can tell you at this age 1 year is a huge difference much less 2.
Ya I ref 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders (different grades are in different leagues) in a local bball kids league, it is easy to tell the difference at that age.
IM thinking about joining it..haven't plaed in a tournament like this since i was doing hoop it up each year.
Would your team fit under the "driveway" experience? Who is your tallest player? I wanted to try out but was afraid the competition would be super stiff. Would be my first time doing anything like this. I play ball like twice a week and I enjoy it immensely. something like this would be fun it seems. Anyone here play at 24 hour fitness meyerland?
Yeah I'm interested in who all is going to be participating. I've never done a tournament like this before and I imagine the talent pool is deep. I usually play about twice a week right now in pick up games over at Rice. I am thinking of recruting a team from there though.
I play all the time at 24 Hour fitness on post oak all the time just a few times at Meyerland. I haven't looked at the other levels but i have played organized ball and so have the guys on my team. The ones that would end up playing right now would be 6 foot, 6 foot, and 6 foot 4 for now....the other guy i might have is 6 foot 3 so we would have a decent sized team.
So would you sign your team up under HS or Driveway? Heheheh..wanna get an idea of some teams are sandbagging
