depends on how you define credentials. if you're comparing kerry 04 to W 2000, you may have a point. the W of 2004 had much better national security credentials. incidentally, credentials are one thing, but believability is another. if service in the military were all that mattered, clinton would never ave defeated two decorated WW2 veterans.

edit: and credentials don't prevent you from being wrong. if kerry had been elected, would the events currently playing out in the middle east have occured? my god, saudia arabia just called on syria to w/draw from lebanon! even daniel schorr seems to understand what's happening:

The movements for democratic change in Egypt and Lebanon have happened since the successful Iraqi election on Jan. 30. And one can speculate on whether Iraq has served as a beacon for democratic change in the Middle East.

During the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, President Bush said that "a liberated Iraq can show the power of freedom to transform that vital region."

He may have had it right.

    Listen to the GOP whine...

"That mean ol' Robert Byrd said we are using a tactic that Hitler did. That's too mean of those nasty democrats. Waaaahhhhh boo hoo. Why aren't they getting in trouble by the media, wahhhh."

This whole thing is too funny. Byrd merely compared two tactics. It wasn't anything horribly wrong. I can make other comparisons to Hitler that might apply as well, but that doesn't mean I or Byrd or anyone else is calling the GOP Nazis, or anything like that.

But as soon someone mentions a tactic they used and shows a relation to a tactic used in the past the party that doesn't want anyone to be sensitive when Ann Coulter accuses an entire nationality of being dangerous starts whining and moaning like there is no tomorrow. Talk about being over sensitive, Geeez.

lol you are more than welcome. I'll be going to sensitivity training soon. I just hope the GOP and their selective sensitivity registers as well.

I can understand the ADL's sensitivity, but I think basso is more upset that Byrd was disaparaging the Nazis.
