Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation, which is aiming to build the first hospital in 40 years in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mutombo's homeland.
Yes I saw a clip on Fox26 and they were interviewing him. I didn't hear it so I'm not sure what all was said.
Bush talked about how it's good to be part of a thing like that, and I don't think he knew Mutumbo's name, he just called him "that big guy." Funny seeing JVG, his bow tie was crooked.. Didn't see T-Mac anywhere, but Sura, Bowen, and Howard were there. I think McGrady had a death in his family, that might explain me not seeing him.. Or my eyes Suck. As an attempt to move this thread away from Yao's love life . . . Some highlights: * The highest selling item of the night was a dinner with Yao, TMac and Deke at Yao's restaurant for the bidder & eight (seven? nine?) guests. It was purchased for $25,000. The bidding went so high on it, that Yao offered up another private dinner with himself for the same price - so dinner at Yao Restaurant x 2 = $50,000 for Deke's foundation. * Other cool auction items - at least my personal favorites: Ali vs. Foreman gloves autographed by both, a collage of photos from the NBA China games, autographed Yao Ming Shanghai Sharks jersey, Jordan's jerseys from UNC, Chicago and Laney High School- autographed. Jon Barry and Juwan Howard assisted Bill Worrell with the live auction items. *During the first live auction, Jon Barry said that Coach should bid on it - "I know your arms are short coach, but they're not that short" Bill Worrell made some jokes about Barry losing playing time. * Bush #41 was the keynote speaker - the Congalese ambassador to the US, Les and Dikembe also all spoke. * All the proceeds will be donated towards Dikembe's hospital in Kinshasa.
I put it up once ... if you really feel threatened, say something to the jacklegs who reply and include the picure again I am starting to think that some of you make be in a "slump" yourselves and might be using this thread to do some scouting...
God she is UGLY I guess Yao just wants someone as tall as him, which is hard to find Yah well, as long as he is happy and she makes him a nice steak dinner to build up those muscles of his, I will be fine
