Is anyone else a little excited about this game? For those that don't know (possibly a large number), this is a Devil May Cry/ Prince of Persia type game, set in a world involving Greek mythology, and is developed by Sony (what, me hyping a Sony game?) It just went gold about a week ago and will be come out March 22nd. Everything I've read and seen of it has been very positive. I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks about the game. It looks very polished, IMO, and it should do quite well for Sony if they market it well. One odd thing that I read was that after the first level, their is a minigame where you have sex with two other women at the same time, and if you "please" them enough, you get XP orbs. I thought maybe the excessive blood and gore were the reasons why this game got a "M" rating, but it looks there is a lot more than that in the game. And a couple pics to finish off this post:
I was able to get a demo CD of this game a couple of weeks ago. Its really a sweet ass game. Plays very similar to P of P, but I think it runs smoother. The demo only played like a half of a stage, but I must say it was freaking awesome. After I finished the demo, I played it again, just because the game was so cool. I'm mostly just a sports game player, but will very much consider this game a must buy. If anybody wants to play the demo, just PM me and i'll mail it to you.
You post sounds very much like several other posts about the demo of the game, although I often saw another "F" word in place of "freaking." I've also read that some people who have the reviewer's copy have grown hooked to the game, with one person even putting it up with RE4 as a GOTY candidate. Hopefully, this level of "awesomeness" is found through the whole game, and it will be a hit, like DaDakota mentioned. It just seems to have so many things going for it, IMO. I had a shot at getting a demo copy, but decided against it for some strange reason. Probably better that I didn't since I would have wanted the 22nd to come ASAP. I'm probably going to have to hold off on getting the game though, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since I'll get to focus more on finishing up my school year, not to mention I'll have my PSP to concentrate my gaming on. Hopefully, maybe I can find the game at a good deal during the summer or some time around then.
I've got it on preorder. Didn't get the demo disk (they were out) so I played the in-store one. Plays well, with some very fluid animations. Hopefully I'll beat Devil May Cry 3 before GOW comes out. Just as an aside, DMC 3 is one of the harder games I've played in recent memory. First 2 were a breeze compared to this one.
Just picked up DMC3, but still looking forward to this. Hope its just as difficult. I'm tired of easy games.
I got a copy of the demo as well and thought it was very good. I'll picking it up once it's released for sure. The only thing that would worry me is the combat getting repetitave, but I think the abilities you pick up along the way will keep things interesting.
Sounds like the 1st reviews of GoW have been pretty good, according to the game's designer: I put blanks in spots where our game designer friend used words that were appropriate of the game's "M" rating, but you get the point. I don't know which reviewers have already reviewed the game, but Play Magazine gave it a 9.5 and the April edition of Game Informer will supposedly give it a 10, 10, as well as GOTM. So if these early indications of the game are telling of the game, Mr. Jaffe may be a little richer, not to mention busy working on GoW 2, possibly for the PS3. *drool* BTW, Jaffe will be on the Screen Savers on G4, which starts in a few minutes, so anyone interested may want to catch that. G4 will also air a special on the game beginning tomorrow at 9 PM central, IIRC. Not too much longer until it comes out...
Sounds like this game really is good. Gamespot gave it a 9.3, while IGN gave it a 9.8. GS just recently put their review up, so I haven't read it, but IGN's review makes it sound like just a few minor issues (text boxes, some unnecessary platformer/puzzle stuff, etc.) kept it from a 10. I also didn't notice that IGN is now putting up video reviews that everyone can see now, instead of IGN insiders or whatever they call them. Anyone considering buying this game needs to check out that clip, IMO.
i've never even heard of this game till right now but it looks awesome, too bad i sold my ps2. from the reviews it appears to be in ninja gaiden territory which is one of my favorite games over the last 2 years.
Tara and I saw this game on the tube last night right before lights out. I immediately knew I wanted this game, and before I even said anything, Tara said that it looked pretty cool!!! YESSSS!!!
Did amybody see the G4 tv special about the game? This game has nudity and sex, more explicit than GTA sex. It's like a mini game or something. You come accross these beds with 2 naked horny girls waiting for you and then the camera pans to the side of the bed and you just see the bed jumping up and down and of course you hear everything. Don't know if that's how it is in the game or if they cut it like that for tv.
AFAIK, that is how it is in the game. I actually saw pictures from that part of the game that a reviewer took of the game, which made me believe it enough to mention it in my opening post. I like the G4 special. It would be nice if they did more stuff like that. That's a better idea than coming up with stupid names like "Attack of the Show." 1UP(10) , EGM(9.83), and PS Magazine(5/5) have all put up their reviews, according to Gamerankings. It is kind of funny since I've been watching this game since around E3 of last year, where it looked like it had some great ideas but needed some more polish. I was trying to get the word out on the game since it looked like it was going to be one of those good games, poor seller combo (like an ICO or MGS3), but with the scores it has been getting, I don't see how it needs my help to sell. Plus, Sony is good at marketing.
I plan on getting the new slim-design PS2 in a few weeks when productions figures are expected to increase. As it stands now I can't really find a non-bundle unit in stock anywhere. A game like this well be one of the first few that I buy. Thanks RC.
waiting for a good x-box game to buy. Been foolin around in Tiger Woods for a while. May buy the Commando Star Wars game for the hell of it. But would really like a good RPG to come out.
