It seems like Yao will not become a force or dominant player in the league but will be more like Chris Webber. In that case T-Mac has to become one of the 3 best players or so, for us to compete for a title with this supporting cast we have right now.

Still too early to tell. It's only safe to say Yao'll not be able to reach prime Shaq or Hakeem's level. Overall he's still improving, although sometimes he may take 1 step or 2 back. It's a growing process.

i hate to say this and i'll probably upset some YOF
    but I'm just objective here.
Look at the 4 outings after the all star game
    the numbers tell it all

the rebounds are unacceptable for any center in the league
and the fouls are ridiculous (ok ....some of the fans may blame the refs for this)

however, you control your destiny...if you disagree with the calls....talk to the refs and find the reasons and may even argue with them so that they may think twice next time blowing the whistles (even though it may not work, but you have tried....don't just take/accept the fouls if you don't like the call...you need to communicate yourself) No one is gonna make a stronger case other than you and unless you care less.

Turnovers are another issue, that's why you can tell his teammates are being hesitated to pass him the ball because he had problem catching the ball and fumbles it at times.

I really don't like people try to defend yao and explain the reasons he perform poorly. that's BS. Guys even say he should be the second option even though he did not prove that he's capable / entitled with consistency.

I don't defend Yao for his bad performance recently. But please look at the big picture.

Do you have any doubt that Tmac should still be option#1 when he had a couple bad games? Do you ever doubt Padgett shouldn't be option#1 when he basicly hit everything in a couple games? I bet you don't. So why do you believe Yao should not be option #2 after a few bad games? Over the course of the season, Yao has earned his rights to be 2nd option.

These people disappeared when T-Mac had 5 or so bad games in a row.
