Maybe I'll be in Vancouver... maybe I'll still be here but just doing my best to ignore everything the fraud's doing. More people... many more people went to vote for Al Gore on election day across the U.S. and in Florida. Dated voting machines threw out more ballots in socio-economically deprived areas and now the Republicans qb lawyers keep waiting out the clock. I think I'm going to puke. No, maybe I'll drink a little bit and then puke. Mmmmm... puke. ------------------ Senior GOP strategists say privately that a key reason the Bush campaign did not ask for a statewide recount was it feared that Gore would pick up more votes than Bush, because of the high rate of ballot spoilage in black precincts. - MSNBC. Hey, if you puke, i'll puke. lets all puke. it's all a bunch of puke anyways. I think i'll tune us some Jackson Brown or Bob Seger right about now. Lets puke to that. It's much better to puke to a fine melody, man. ------------------ Were all in this together...whatever the hell it is -Rocketbooster
Achebe: Nice to see someone on this board has some sense. ------------------ If I make this shot, the Rockets will win tonight. If I miss, they might still win, but I doubt it. If I make two in a row, Florida's votes will actually count.
I'll tell you what makes me want to puke. It's hearing MORE about this damned election. At this point, no matter who wins, and in what fashion, it will be jaded because the other candidate will perform some survey or find some statistic that indicates that the entire election wasn't completely fair. Well I have news for these people, not everything can be completely fair all the time, and some mistakes are going to be made when an election includes as many people as there is in USA. From now on, by the precedence being set by Al Gore, any election that has close voting in a particular area will be scutinized continously until the losing candidate can find a way to generate enough votes that, for one reason or another, were not counted. And there is a simple reason for this. Our country's system for election does not elect the candidate who would best run the country, it elects the candidate who best runs a campaign to run the country, and these are simply very different things. I am not saying that George Bush should have won, or that Al Gore should have won, but it is obvious that somehow, some foul play might have occurred on Bush's part, and that Al Gore will not rest until he finds a way to get the votes recounted in such a way that results in him winning Florida. Neither is exhibiting behaviour that is becoming of the US President, and THAT is what makes me sick. Sorry I went on ranting like this. I usually don't, but for some reason I just kept on typing... hopefully the resulting flaming is not too harsh... ------------------ She hates testicles, thus limiting the men she can admire to Democratic candidates for president. -- John Greenway, "The American Tradition", on feminist Elizabeth Gould Davis [This message has been edited by RunninRaven (edited December 03, 2000).]

Wah, wah, wah. Be sure to tell Alec Baldwin I said hi, you crybaby. "A prime example is Duval, a north Florida county that hosts thousands of naval aviators. A ballot that perplexingly spread presidential names over two pages led to many accidental double votes, which are automatically voided. Although Bush carried the county 58 percent to 41 percent, the spoiled ballots were concentrated in African American sections of downtown Jacksonville. In the most heavily white precincts, about 1 in 14 ballots were thrown out, but in largely black precincts more than 1 in 5 ballots were spoiled – and in some black precincts it was almost one-third." They were using the same ballot! There's no racism, no fraud. Are you trying to say that black people aren't smart enough to use the same ballot as whites? That's sick. ------------------ For chrissakes, would you cover yourself?

Let's go Dorothy. Your power of reasoning frightens me. The article clearly states why there were problems with new voters. Those new voters (in this situation) happen to reside in a traditionally democratic stronghold. These users happen to be using old equipment. Many republican counties (from the trend of the tax base) happen to use machines that prompt you if you have voted for more than one candidate per race, or if you haven't voted for anyone at all. If A, then B... If B then C. First of all, the fact that these voters happen to reside in a region that has historically voted Democratic is irrelevant. There is no fraud here. Nobody set out to give 'better voting equipment' to Republicans. It seems to me that if you have enough intellectual horsepower to punch a hole, you should be fine. There is no conspiracy against Democrats, nor is there anything different about Florida. You seem to be saying that the dumber people tried to vote for Gore, but weren't able to. Where is the fraud? You lost. We all feel sorry for you, but life goes on. Here, have a kleenex. What's Alec Baldwin up to? ------------------ "I know its too early to call for his head but you know who I would like to see coach our team? John Thompson." -cato13
What does it matter? Both Gore & Bush tried to fix this election, and they both failed sloppily and miserably. No matter who "wins" this one, he will become the most impotent and powerless President we've ever had. He will get absolutely nothing done and will be voted out in a landslide four years from now. ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
I'm just speechless when I hear of people wanting to leave this country because of this. I can live anywhere I want and make a living but I wouldn't leave even if my worst enemy was elected President. Speechless and disgusted are the only words I have. Oh, there is one more ... byebye. ------------------
What I like is that of all the whiners who claim that they're leaving the country if Candidate A or Candidate B leaves, not one of them has the balls to do it. There's a word for that. Oh yeah. Chicken****.
Why leave the country? Does anyone really think anything will be drastically different no matter who is our next President? ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
Chicken neck? Chicken foot? I'm pondering moving to Vancouver, you Chicken snot. It just happens to fit into the apocryphal "if candidate a" blah blah blah. In hard times like this, when there is much confusion and the like, I remember something my mom used to tell me when I was a kid, "Remember, you are UNIQUE, just like everyone else."
