I doubt that a lot of Houstonians know who Conan is, considering that he has a two hour and ten minute delay after Leno. What's up with that? ------------------ 2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas: End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!" 2nd: "What a great game!" 3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!" 4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!" Revote! Revote! Revote!...... Rocket's Championship 2001!!
DoD, you saw all those people in person??? Kim, as far as Zirkin is concerned, im not sure if it is the same guy. he is a good looking guy, but he is from long island. i dont know where you knew him from, but you never know. his dad was some big football player, but this guy has amazing style. i think this is his 4th and last year competing in the APDA debate circuit. he does well, wins fairly often, but he is far more stylized than any of the other competitors. i will proudly admit that i have learned a thing or two from him. he is also a friend of my girlfriend, and a really cool guy to talk to. later ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Hehe... no, but that's why I said "I can think of several others that are great speakers, but I've never witnessed in person". I just had to plug them. Especially Barbara Jordan. I idolize that woman. I've seen/heard Barbara Jordan speak. I've seen/heard Jew Don Boney speak. The rest I've only seen on television or heard on radio. ------------------ -------------- Did you know? Derrick Chievous sucked. It's true. -- from the ClutchCity.net "Did You Know" sidebar [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited November 29, 2000).]
Voice, yeah, I remember clearly now. It's the same guy. I have his email somewhere back in Houston. If you see him before the holidays tell him Keem Man (I'm a short asian guy) from UTNIF said wuz up. He was just out of HS and was an instructor at a summer speech camp i attended. You're right man, his style's pretty good, but I don't think it's amazing or anything. Maybe he's developed it more the last 3 years.
[bold]"I doubt that a lot of Houstonians know who Conan is, considering that he has a two hour and ten minute delay after Leno. Houstonians are missing out. ------------------
KIM, Well ive seen pretty much all of the best collegate debaters in the nation. I am not a professional judge. i do however know when a guy can sell pork to a muslim during Ramadahn. he is a good speaker, but it is his style and calmness that i enjoy. many of the best debaters from Harvard/princton/stanford will make great lawyers. but i saw Zirkin debate the same case on different sides once. after the first debate i wholeheartedly beleived the man was right. just one hour later in the next round of debate he debated the opposite side of the case against Yales best. i left that debate a true beleiver of the opposite sinde of the argument. i only realized that i had completely changed my mind a few hours later, but the damage had been done. i gave him the W. it seems to me that Zirkin would make a great politician. he might trail in the polls untill the first debate, than its "kennedy time". (refering to JFKs an=bility to win his election due to his performance in the debates. hell i guess its Ventura time as well.) the way i see it is that he is only 22 or so now. he will rock you out of your socks when he runs for senate. Hopefully i will already be president by then. otherwise the democratic primary would be one hell of a race to see. incidently Adam is a huge sports nut, and he loves Cuttinos game. so he is cool in my book ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Michael Martin is also great, although I've never seen him in person. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
space city, henry rollins i great. i would love to see him in person. his spoken word albums are better than hin music. im glad someone else has seen Bill Clinton speak in person. he is so amazing. just an absolutely great speaker. i forgot i did see maya angelou recite some poetry, but it didnt strike me at the time. i was verry young. like 8 so it really didnt register. i think i liked the stories, but it may have been the oreo cookies. it was at the state university of New york Potsdam heh, funny how we forget. ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Lou Holtz is a hell of a speaker in person, no matter what you think of him. On the other hand, Condoleezza Rice bored me to no end at commencement. ------------------ The Badministrator
Dave Dravecky (former Padres & Giants Pitcher) and Tony Campolo ------------------ 2000 Sportscaster of the Year @ KTXT-FM, Lubbock
I remember that sketch. That was one of the best ever. This big huge guy said to Conan: "We don't watch that kind of crap in Houston." After he left, Conan said: "Okay, I was almost murdered." Very amusing. ------------------ If I make this shot, the Rockets will win tonight. If I miss, they might still win, but I doubt it. If I make two in a row, Florida's votes will actually count.
ZRB, the guys name was Buffalo, that was just beoynd hilarious. Late night w/Conan is definitely one of the funniest shows on. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
