Oh wow... Austria!.... I love them kangaroos... home of Lleyton Hewitt! I sometimes get their accent confused with the kind that George W. Bush and Paul Hogan have...
Southern drawl. Texas twang. Also, the accents are different between Houston, northeast Texas, and west Texas. A lot of Houstonians weren't born here, or their parents weren't born here.
My ears have not been trained to make that distinguishment... This one Texan I met taught me some of what must be "Texas Twang"... it went something like: "por favor no diga a cualquier persona que sea un inmigrante ilegal"
okay...smarty pants.. even I know that Austria is short for Australia... kind of like England is short for Great Britain.. and New England short for Boston.... p.s. what does LMAO mean in english?
Let's see 1) Austria is NOT short for Austrailia. They speak German (hence Arnold's German accent) 2) How can New England be short for Boston when it has 4 more letters? Kinda like saying Houston is short for H-Town. 3) LMAO = Laughing My @$$ off Hope this info help
When Curry missed a free throw in the second quarter... "That might be the worst free throw Ahv ever seen."
Personally, the guy is annoying as hell. I try to block him out as much as I can when I watch the games. Its the same thing with people here in NYC or in Boston and their abuse of words. Man, sometimes, it just goes overboard. I understand the whole uniqueness of it all. Diverse country and all. But please, how about some pronunximication of 50 percent of the English language? That would be aight with me.
"Clarunce Wethurspoon comes frum a town so smawll in Missippi id don evun hava red lite."-Van "Really?"-Beel Poor Van was losing his voice last night. He sounded worse than Barkley at the All Star Game . Perfect time to sneak Calvin back in the rotation.
i dont believe i have heard this on a telecast yet, but i have heard it many a times on the radio....can i get a "GUFF Freeway"...?? man, this guy has yet to grow on me....and the chance of him ever growing on me is about the same chance as a 3rd arm has of growing on me.... this is only like my 6th post, dont hate......great thread guys....
That pic of Bum reminds me of when he did color for the Oilers. "That was incerdible! How'd you like that play, Bum?" Bum: "Maah."
I moved to Houston in 1990. My first memory of Bum as Oilers' color commentator: PbyP (was it Kenny Hand back then?): Fourth and less than 1 and the Oilers are gonna go for it. Silence Silence Silence Silence Silence Low moan from the crowd (not the good kind) Bum: Didn' git it. commerical break
