I'm a Wilcox fan. Whether JVG is interested in a young player is probably a question mark. We'd also need to break him of Clipper Syndrome (lax on D, shriveled heart). Evan
With all this mis-information and confusion about the trades and the draft picks - I have come to one conclusion ... Chad Ford .... must die !
Young PFs 1) Swift - Unrestricted FA. That is a plus. Would he take LESS money to sign here for the MLE? Chances are slim. But I guess there is a chance. 2) Chandler - Restricted FA. Word is the Bulls will match ANY offer to him. We of course can offer Chandler our MLE but he wont accept it because the Bulls would match IMMEDIATELY. So it would take a team under the cap to throw out a HUGE amount of money to even make the Bulls blink. I see the Bulls resigning Chandler this offseason. Same with Curry. 3) Kwame - Restricted FA. Similar situation as Chandler. But the Wizards probably wouldnt match Kwame at all costs the way the Bulls would with Chandler. We can only offer our MLE which the Wizards would match IMMEDIATELY. It probably would take an offer of over 10M per from New Orleans, Milwaukee or Atlanta for the Wizards to think about not matching. 4) Wilcox - Not a FA. The Clippers are down on him. But he is young and cheap. On another team I might say we MIGHT have a chance to trade for him since he is in the doghouse. But the Clippers are the Clippers. They love players that have potential and are on their cheap rookie contracts. I dont see a trade here. 5) Dalemert - Restricted FA. I would say Dalembert with Philly is in a similar situation as Kwame. We could offer our MLE but like the other teams, Philly would match IMMEDIATELY. Philly would match many offers but if a HUGE 10M+ per offer comes down the pike, potentially from Atlanta, then Philly would have to make some decisions, especially with AI's and Webber's contracts on the books and Korver wanting a new deal as well. Of all of the available PFs Swift is the best bet since he is UNrestricted. But with that said, it still is a long shot.
Brand, seriously...I guess while we're dreaming, I'd prefer Duncan, Big Ben or Garnett. But let's be realistic, Wilcox would be a good fit if we could trade for our 1st pick, which probably won't amount to much anyway.
