I don't see how the Orlando Sweep was an upset

We went through the Jazz, Phoenix and San Antonio that wasn't a fluke

The Orlando sweep was an upset by definition. The Magic were heavily favored (as were each of the Rockets' West opponents that year). The only mistake in the nba.com piece was in not including the Rockets entire playoff run that year. Every single series was an upset.

The T-Mac thing wasn't an upset because the Rockets beat the Spurs -- it was an upset because we were down so much so late.

Orlando didn't have the best record that year, San Antonio did.

You are right. They have it wrong.

"Shaquille O'Neal and the Orlando Magic get swept by the Houston Rockets in the 1995 Finals despite having the best record in the league."

    HOU: 47-35

    WEST:
    SA: 62-20
    UTH: 60-22
    PHO: 59-23
    SEA: 57-25

    EAST:
    ORL: 57-25

I noticed that too. If you have space to mention T-Mac's comeback, you have space for Reggie Miller's too.

It was an upset... Orlando was touted as having the best starting 5 in the NBA that year (and Penny was a first-team all NBAer). Yeah, maybe for the regular season they did, but 3D and Nick Anderson didn't play up to potential during the playoffs.

too bad they don't have a category for best playoff performance - I would love to have the chance to vote on Dream putting 40 on Robinson the same night that DR won the MVP

    :D

First off the Spurs have 1 1/2 championships, just like the Patriots 2 1/2, don't let the media try and tell you different.:D
Second, our history is so much better than the Spurs its not even a competition. Before Robinson (who was bufued by Hakeem) their franchise player was Gervin. He was a very good player but he did take around 30+ shots a game to score alot and its not like they were any good with him. The Rockets franchise players before Hakeem was Malone, Rudy T, Murphy, and Hayes. All of which I would pick over Gervin.
Third, the Rockets are still the most beloved team in most of Africa because of Hakeem and now Deke. Plus, another 3 billion Chinese and other Asian countries are supporting the Rockets because of Yao. The Spurs can have Parkers French fans.
Finally, our playoff record against the Spurs is 3-0, with the best coming in the '95 Western conference playoffs. Don't ever think that the Spurs is the most renound Texas team just because of titles. Although the Spurs do have a better arguement than the Mavericks in this case.
-Almost forgot, Phi Slamma Jamma(who were in the '83 & '84 NCAA championships) being reunited to win the '95 finals. That is probably the BEST story in Houston history! I don't see UTSA or TCU doing anything even remotely along those lines.
