hopefully soon......college hoops is so watered down any more with all the kids jumping......makes it hard to bet come march some times (and no, I don't think Illinios is that good)
compared to say the UConn team last year, Duke in 2001, Michigan St in 2000? For the most part, people KNOW that those teams are going to win it all. With the exception of like a Syracuse in 2003, National Champs are senior led teams. All I'm saying is, that I think with all these guys going to the league early, that creates a TON of parity in college hoops. I don't think that this Illionis team could handle any of those previous teams.
I still like Simien, after watching Kansas beat OSU yesterday. I'm not convinced that he would be a defensive stud, but he's got good size (if not height), is a good rebounder/finisher, can draw fouls in the paint, and is an excellent free throw shooter. I don't know if I'd trade up to get him, but if he were available at our pick, I would take him.
The Age Limit of the NBA draft coming in this years new CBA might be the only thing that can save college basketball.
I could not even begin to agree more......that is absolutley correct. I think it would make the NBA better skills wise too, but specifically it will make college hoops as good as it used to be.
