What do you think about the Texans picking up Derrick Mason.. i hear Mason will be cut by the Titans soon.

    On both counts...W T F?

Joey Porter is a linebacker. If you want to start him at any receiver position, by all means, start a franchise and play against my teams anytime.

Mike Williams has been discussed non-stop on this board and on ESPN as a likely first-rounder. That doesn't really qualify him in any way as a "major sleeper". Add to it that I don't think he'll live up to his hype, but that's just an opinion..

My Bad actually I was speaking of Jerry Porter(WR) from the Raiders.I know who Joey Porter is,as I had him on my fantasy football team a couple of years ago. He's one helluva linebacker.Anyway,Jerry has been hurt and played with Gannon when he just couldn't get him the ball anymore. He looks to have major upside..and I thought I heard him mentioned in connection with the Texans.I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything regarding this.
...and on Williams,I was not privvy to your discussion ,since I just started posting in here.Mike would have gone high,if not for the problems last year. This year he appears to be slotted between 18-22..To me that is kinda low.My feeling is that he is a top 10 pick. So,I call him a sleeper. What's the consensus on Mike Williams around here?

Isn't he like 40 now or does he just look 40?

I was hoping that Symons would take over Ragone's spot. I never understood why you draft a lefty to back a right handed QB. I've never agreed with that IMO. If Banks stays fine. If he goes, I want to see what Symons looks like this pre-season.

Why wouldn't we trade Ragone or Symons? Why have two, with Carr, three youngsters...It doesn't make any sense to me, IMO...I like having Tony, a veteran is a good thing...

ESPN just reported that the Raiders and Jerry Porter just agreed to a 5 year deal. While he was a top tier FA WR, I didn't think the see him in a Texan jersey anyway.

    Porter stays with Raiders

I saw on the NFL channel that the Texans sent Ragone to NFL europe to get some playing time.

There are quite a few rumors going around that have Plaxico being spotted more than a few times in and around town, and that the Texans are planning on letting Bradford go and signing Plax. Anybody else have information on this?

How much would Plaxico cost us?

    Is he a restricted FA?

The Steelers did not place the "franchise tag" on Burress, according to John Clayton. He mentioned Washington as a possible destination.

I think Burress would compliment Johnson well.
To me,Plexiglass is more of a possession type who can get deep or make the big play once in a while...very dangerous in the Red Zone.He really was hindered by the Steelers lack of a viable QB before Roethlisberger came along.Yes,he is prone to the dropsies at times. But with Carr's armstrength and Johnson stretching the defense,Burress would have a field day.Lets go after him.

BTW..Williams strikes me as the same type of receiver, but without the height.I think your probably right about Keyshawn being a good comparison.

Would the Texans be interested in David Terrell. He was cut by the Bears recently. If ( a big if) he can get his act together he can be a nice compliment to A. Johnson. Also, they can use that #13 pick on another need.

What about the wideout for the Bengals. TJ (can't spell his last name) He has great speed, can make defenders miss after the catch and he won't cost as much as Burress and Mason.

i'm not the most informed person when it comes to footbal, but i was wondering if there were any legit rumors regarding the Texans so far this offseason. it seems like there's a ton of FA's available at our need positions and it would be a shame if the Texans didnt pick up a few solid guys that could contribute a great deal next season.

Who are some of the guys available right now that we really have a chance at signing?

    thanks.

He did sign with them yesterday. By the way, it's T.J. Houshmandzadeh. I don't see how that fits on a jersey.

I don't think Terrell is worth it. The potential has always been there. He just hasn't ever gotten it together. As of this second, he would probably be the 4th receiver behind AJ, Gaffney, and Derek Armstrong. I'd also take more of a chance on Sloan Thomas or Kendrick Starling before signing Terrell.

I would like to see a more accomplished #2 receiver. It's not a priority because, IMO, Gaffney will be a nice compliment to AJ. They do indeed need to use that #13 pick on something other than a WR.
