My comments are not spoiling the movie for anyone... I'm not sure what to think.... I really loved parts of this movie but it was a roller coaster in the last half and I was left wanting more. I really liked Bruce Willis in it. Anyone else seen it yet? I just saw it tonight. I've never really liked Bruce Willis, don't know why. I usually do like the movies he is in, though.... sorta weird. I don't think he's that good of an actor, but performs well in this particular movie. I wasn't impressed with the movie very much. It was entertaining, to a point, but like Clutch said it does leave you wanting more, and not just at the end. One thing that started to irritate me as the movie wore on was the use of odd camera angles and camera motions. There were just too many, and they sometimes lasted too long. It's like it was some cinematic class on camera work, which to me was a distraction from the movie. Another thing is I'm starting to doubt Samuel L. Jackson's acting ability... well, maybe not his "ability", but his range. This is not the first movie in which I thought he gave a subpar performance. Well, me and some friends had a choice between this and the 6th Day. And im sorry to say i was voted down. Unbreakable is possibly the worst movie ive seen all year, perhaps with the exception of Blair Witch. Sam Jackson thinks he is a lot cooler than he really is. I wished i saw 6th day. I bet i missed some really great "arnoldisms" like, "youre fired", or "day's over". any one else think of any cool arnoldisms that would be in this? ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

Well, I'll go ahead and praise this movie's genius, just not in this thread. The whole concept of the movie makes it the best I've ever seen in its genre, by far. Everything I've heard so far has told me to stay away. The Trailer was really good, but this movie has very poor reviews. I'm sitting this one out. I'm waiting for early returns on Tom Hanks new movie about being cast away. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
I was hoping you would respond to this ... wanted to know what you thought. I agree to a point... I thought so much of it was ingenius, but certain things bothered me. Agreed... best left for another thread. Give people some time to see the movie... I do hope there is a sequel. I thought some of the angles were cool... though yeah it did seem to be done a lot like that. I saw the movie yesterday and was very disappointed. The movie doesn't really get interesting until the end when they leave you wanting more. The movie starts out really slow and stays that way all the way through. I must say that the theme of the movie was ingenius and I would have never thought that they could get super-hero status out of a movie starring Bruce Willis or Samuel L. Jackson. Oh well, this isn't the first movie that didn't float my boat. ------------------
I haven't seen it but I want to and this confirms it. I LOVE Samuel L. Jackson and can take or leave Bruce Willis. I like the concept, however. RM95: High Fidelity? I liked that one for moments of humor but didn't it just seem like a weak Cusak attempt at Woody Allen? All that breaking downt the fourth wall seemed contrived to me. I much preferred Grosse Point Blank to this one but that fat kid at the record store was hilarious. ------------------ Time for a new cause.
I loved High Fidelity because I think Rob is the one character in all movie history that most accurately resembles me. I agonize over the same crap that he does and I love making top 5 lists, way before the movie came out. The book was amazing as well. And may I reiterate to all who've seen Unbreakable and are posting in this thread, please do not give anything AT ALL away for those who haven't seen it. I thought the movie just wasn't that good. The concept was certainly original, but it seems like it tried to take itself too seriously (aside of course from the "No shooting friends, Joseph!" and the credit card lines). It definitely wasn't Jackson's best performance.. actually one of his worst that I've seen. And, well, the end sucked! I saw the movie and thought it was better than average, but nothing spectacular. For those of you that have seen The Sixth Sense also, you know the director prefers a slow-paced style for the majority of his movies. The pace will pick up only on certain scenes, but it works well to increase the tension of those scenes. I wonder if, like The Sixth Sense, this movie would be more interesting on the second viewing. Maybe, you'd pick up the foreshadowing and be pleasantly surprised. As for Willis and Jackson, Willis was decent, but kind of dry (like his character in The Sixth Sense). Jackson was pretty good. It does take some serious talent to sell some of the crappy dialogue he had in certain scenes, so he should be commended. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend repeating this mantra before you go: "This is not The Sixth Sense." Lower your expectations just a little, and you may enjoy it more. ------------------
I liked the movie. Need to digest it more. I thought the Camera angles and Rotations were a bit of a distraction too. Based on 6th Sense I was busy trying to give meaning to these type of things. Movie of the Year. Plot was never spoon fed. Brilliant, suspenseful and a great mindfu*k at the end. 6th Sense was good, but this is a masterpiece. Kudos, props, and Oscars to Sam and Bruce. --- Sorry Dubya, since you're pro-life you have to accept the pregnant chads.

This is for everyone except: ROCKETMAN 95, who swears this was the greatest movie since sliced bread! ("Actually" he is the only one who thinks this movie is the greatest thing since sliced bread.) I'm not going to spoil it for those fortunate enough to have not seen it yet but, #1. When you see some stupid written stuff at the beginning -- Trust your "sixth sense", get up and get the hell out of the theater, your time is valuable! #2. There may be a few moments when you are enjoying the movie, trust me this will not last! #3. When you realize how stupid the plot is, now matter how stupid it may seem, trust me when I say the duration will go from bad to worse! #4. At the end, when you see some stupid written stuff (after the sorry ending.) Get up as quick as you can and run to the exit so you can avoid hearing from others how dumb the movie was, and avoid this confirmation of your wasted time! I'm sorry, but i liked the Sixth Sense a lot! and I wondered how this directors other movies were not known, well to my chagrin and melancholy, now I know why! ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
