i'm feeling damn good right about now.

    way to go CD.

BTW..... i dont know how baker's been playing of late (if at all), but it seems to me that he could really help solidify the C position as well as PF - especially with Yao in constant foul trouble. he can spell Yao w/o being the offensive liablilty the Deke is. plus he can be used for some quick fouls if need be.

it just gives us more options and more depth, which is never a bad thing.

moochie, on the other hand, is garbage.

We gave two 2nd's for James, so it comes to one all together

Wow. Now this is clearly a good trade for the Rockets.

Though I wouldn't harp on Isiah too much. The Knicks weren't about to be under the cap anytime soon and though Mo didn't fit in here, we all know he can at least be an effective low post scorer in the league, which may actually make him a good low post option considering Kurt Thomas and Malick Rose's strengths.

    Wow...

this season CD has made great moves.
    Wesley for JJ
    Barry for Lue
James for Gaines + 2nd rd picks
dumping Mo for contracts that expire after next year.

The Rockets now have a #1 this offseason, and expiring contracts to get a young front court player during/after next season..

We already have 2 young players who are top 5, maybe top 2 or 3, at their positions, and CD has put himself in prime poisiton to add more young talent.

    Job well done!!

Didn't they give up two 2nd rounders in the James deal? Then they got one in the NY deal, so it's net loss of one 2nd rounder, just like mogrod said.

That is correct. As far as we know.

Agreed, but there is absolutely NO ONE who is worse than our starting PG for the last two games.

Don't forget we also received a 2nd rounder as well from a bad team.

    We made out like bandits

Truly amazing! No big names, no marquee guys, just really solid moves to go with the previous low key trades earlier this year. CD has made this season way better than it looked at the end of last season, plus put the team in line for salary cap relief after next year.

He's taken alot of grief here, and deservedly so, for his mistakes, but he's on a huge roll right now. Thanks CD!:)

Until your next mistake, of course.:D

Make that we get a 2nd rounder from NY... makes it much more palatable. Still not happy about losing the TE we could have used to land a good PF this offseason, but i'll live with it.

    Gaines + MoT + TE + 2nd rounder for

    Baker + Moochie + 2nd rounder (NY)

So, you still don't know who Mike James is, nor are aware the trade exception expires before free agency?

    Pity.

Man, I am really confused. How did we trade away MoT, who has an unbearable contract and was basically riding the pine for us for the rest of his time here, for basically expiring contracts AND a 2nd rounder?

Oh yeah, we are dealing with the Knicks and Isiah. :)

What a great great trading deadline day for the Rockets.
This year CD has made lots of solid moves all throughout. Can't complain at all at this organization and the direction that it is heading in. This is the most optimistic I have ever been of the Rockets since the last few days of the Hakeem-Barkley-Drexler era.

We don't need to make blockbuster deals because we have our foundations set for future. All it takes is to make relatively small trades to fill our needs. The chance of making incorrectable mistakes is much smaller.

Like someone once pointed out, it's much easier to build the team when you have your foundations set. In the past, we kept changing directions, thus paying the price for previous contracts/trades that would no longer fit the team's needs.
