Walker Back to Boston Just saw it on ESPN.com Boston sending Gary Payton to Atlanta for Antoine Walker.
I'm sure others are involved but that's just what it said on the front page of espn.com Link to come when available.
This has to be the most change the NBA has ever seen. Between Shaq, T-Mac/Steve during the summer, the trades today, I'm in shock.
Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1998923 The Celtics also sent Tom Gugliotta and Michael Stewart.
Ain't that the truth! Baron Davis back home to Cali! All the talk that owners and GMs were hesistant to make any big deals because of the new CBA, what happened to that???? Crazy, crazy, crazy...
GP won't retire. but i doubt he'll go report to freakin atlanta. he'll be a FA and then make a comeback next year
I usually update these trades on NBA Live but I'm not sending GP to Atlanta, that's too sad, GP's going somewhere else.
walker is going back to boston?!! what the hell. i thought atlanta wanted that expiring contract. i'm assuming the ones they got expire as well so what the hell was the point. all these trades just flying in. i get back and find out we somehow traded mo, only to find out we have to take moochie back. and now van horn goes to dallas. damn.
HAHAHAHA how do you think paul pierce will react to this trade? does this make the celtics contenders in the east now? remember when they went all the way to the conference finals (i believe?)?
It's hard to feel sorry for a millionaire, but man, GP's in hell right now. Gary Payton: "I want to either be in Boston, a team on the West coast, or a contender." Danny Ainge: "Ok, how about we ship you due south to the worst team in the NBA. Because, I hate you."
Maybe this will be a lesson to players about b****ing about being traded to a bad team before they even get there. GP b****ed for weeks after he got dealt to Boston, and now Boston really gets him back and ships him to not-so-Hotlanta. Maybe if he had accepted the trade to Boston, Ainge and the Celts might have thought about getting another team involved and getting him to a contender at least. You do have to feel a little sorry for him though...but that goes for anyone that goes to Atlanta.
They are expiring as well. I think this is partly because (1) Walker made a big stink this week about wanting to know where he'd be long term or if he was a pawn, and (2) Hawks couldn't find anyone offering a better deal. Kudos to Ainge. Good trade, except that Al Jefferson is going to lose PT Evan
