    HOPE for the Rockets

With Chris Webber being dealt to the east and getting nothing back in return. I can see the Kings going into a complete nose-dive (hopefully).

With them being only 1-2 games ahead of us, I have no doubt that we can move up ahead of them. This is huge for the Rockets because with our shedule and Sura being out, this is a big break for us.

But obviously we need to take care of our business.

    #1 PRIORITY= get a PG, NOW!!

do we want to move into that spot? I would much rather go against the Sonics in the first round.

I'll take anything at this point. This just puts 3 teams behind us instead of 2.

If we keep Barrett and Strickland there, 5th pick would be ours for the taking...

LOL...Were not in that much trouble are we?.last nights performance while not great was uptp standard, but tonight?. it was shocking. after halftime the spurs just ran a mock. it really was disheartining. seeing parker abuse strickland and barrett was almost embaressing.

I think that Dallas will end up in the 3 spot, with Seattle slipping to the 4 spot. IMO the 5 spot will get us a date with the Sonics in the first round, at least that's what I'm rooting for.

I feel more confidet with the mavs. the s onics were Awefull l ast night yet they grinded out a win. if they play anywhere near there best ball hey can take us out. this is a team thats won in phoenix, san an, Sac town, memphis, miami etc, etc... this guys are lethal. i feel better about facing the mavs then the Sonics..

At this point I would much rather play the Sonics than the Mavericks but that doesn't matter. The point is to do your job and win as many games as possible. Let the external factors take place like this dehabilitating trade the Kings just pulled off. Yes, this ultimately will propel us ahead of them but so what? If we play the Mavs, we play the Mavs.

And who knows, if we keep on winning and the Mavs get into a slump or somehow choke away the 4th spot----BAM, you have home court for the playoffs.

Can't happen. Top 3 seeds go to the division winners. So even if Seattle has a worse record than Dallas, the Sonics would still get the 3 seed. As long as they win the division.

Sac were fine without Webber for extended periods last year... I think they'll play better without him to tell you the truth.

I wouldn't proclaim the Kings quite dead yet. Lets see how they play with this new team, while it looks like the trade is totally lopsided for the 76ers I am reminded of the Barry and Wesley trades, didn't seem like much but these guys made a difference. Getting rid of Webb might improve the team chemistry there.

Agreed... I at least think they won't nose dive. The still have Miller, Bibby, and Peja, a very nice trio. I read some analysis saying that Webber sometimes dominated the ball too much and slowed down the King's fast paced style.

I know this seems ridiculous, but the Kings may actually be better without Webber. The trade gave them more depth, and even with Webber gone their starting line up is:

    Brad Miller - C
    KT? - PF
    Peja - SF
    Cuttino - SG
    Bibby - PG

Bibby, Peja and Brad Miller have all been all-stars and we all know how talented Cuttino is. These are all guys capable of picking it up offensively to make up for what has been lost in Webber's departure. All the power forward has to do is know his role. That's it. And this move should help the teams chemistry.

Maybe you're right and this will put them into a nose dive... but it just might make them stronger too.

This might be a stupid question but how and why did the NBA come up with this unsual way of seeding? Whats the purpose of it...it just don't make any sense to me.

If we can't get the 4th spot then stay at the 6th, seattle is the ideal team to get knocked out in the first round given their lack of playoff experience and dependency on the 3 pointer.
