Rockets Rumors - All Rockets Trade Rumor Post - and suggestions for trades

Prolly a da#n sight more than Mo and a pick. In addition, they would be crazy to trade with a team ahead of them in the same conference.

 

I agree it would be dumb to trade with teams in the same conference.. You definately dont want to make them any stronger..

some trade ideas I would be interested in.

1. Gary Payton - we definately need a PG but I would hate to lose a 1st round pick for nothing if GP leaves at the end of the year. Might be worth a chance if Sura is out the rest of the year and if GP decides to stay on he could team our young guys alot about being a PG.
2. KThomas - I would love to get the guy on our team but I dont know what we can offer them in exchange.
3. JKidd - seems to have recovered and is playing good ball w/ NJ and wants to be moved to a contender. I hope NJ would be happy to move his contract and pick up a decent PF (MoT). I know MoT is not getting any PT but in the east and more PT could probably be quite effective. NJ needs a low post presence that could score to help open up things for the rest of the team.
4. JRose - im not interested at all please leave him in Canada. Its not that I hate his game but I hate his contract.. at least JKidd appears to be worth the money.
5. DMarshall - he is not the rebounding machine people are expecting but could be a good defender and scorer behind our 3.

well we need to do something. w/ sura out for an extended period of time, the hole he leaves must be addressed. our PG situation w/o him is abismal(?), and our rebounding apparently suffers greatly as well.

DA for Mo is looking better and better at this point. if CD doesn't make a serious effort at landing him or someone else capable of filling in, i'll be royally pissed. we have too much of a good thing going to just play on w/o sura and no other help.

If it doesn't happen, it won't be for a lack of trying. I can't see the Rockets enjoying, particularly CD who inked the Taylor signing, the sight of Mo in street clothes, night in, night out. If anyone wants him gone, I'd think that it would be CD. At your job, what do you do with evidence that you made a bad decision? You shred it! At least according to my Andersen handbook. CD wants MO shredded that I would bank on. And I was no part of the Enron audit.

Portland is supposedly involved in potential trade rumors to bring Michael Redd and Keith Van Horn to Portland in exchange for Shareef and an unnamed player.

This may impact a potential trade with the Rockets. I think if this trade goes through, it increases the chance of Derek Anderson getting traded for Mo.

This looks like a salary dump for Milwaukee.

 

I think it was posted here some time back that Portland needed to move Shareef before DA could be dealt. Not sure about the details.

 

just wanted to clarify, the deadline is 2pm tommorrow Houston time? Remember, like 2 years ago, some trades arent announced till after 2pm like the Allen/Flip Murray for Payton/Mason deal.

 

If the redd for rahim deal happens(very likely) the mo for DA deal is certianty.

 

I got to believe Milwalkee can do better than that. KVH contract is outragous but also up next year. I don't believe that deal goes down unless some 1st rounders from Portland are involved, Redd is too good of player to get caught in a salary dump just to provide 1 year's relief.

 

I'm waiting for word from Doc and/or Berman. Speak up, guys.

 

If the Hornets are willing to deal B. Davis for as little as Dale Davis and other NBA Trash, why can't we just send MoT or Spoon for Davis?

 

And another hurt PG is going to help?

I am praying that CD won't get desperate like this, the consequence would be:

1. The Rockets front office will be the laughing stock of the league, if these kinds of trade suggestions become public.
2. We get ripped off in a deal, just like the Kings.
