Lately exercising has been cutting into my web surfing. Ever notice how slowly an hour goes on a treadmill or an exercycle. What we need is a good way to exercise while surfing the web. You are going to need broadband and not a tiny phone sized monitor. Maybe an exercycle specifically designed for quality surfing while peddling.

Anybody have any ideas? Has anybody actually done this? Help improve the fitness level of cc.net.

The Q Club, now 24 Hour Fitness, in Sugar Land used to have exercise bikes with ~12 inch monitors attatched to each bike. You could surf the net, listen to the radio, and even watch cable TV. When they made the switch to 24 Hour Fitness a few years back, they went cheap and got rid of them...

If that is what we are calling it these days then I exercise while "surfing" the web all the time.

Exactly, what kind of "exercising" are we talking about?

I know of a way to surf and have...ahem...exercise.

There was a story on Yahoo not too long ago where a guy built a "Stand up" desk around his treadmill. He could walk/jog on that treadmill and web surf or work at the same time. Pretty smart idea I though.

I'm actually planning to do this.

My next home will have an exercise room with a treadmill and a small 32" TV. I already have a wireless network and a wireless mouse/keyboard. I plan to have the wireless mouse/keyboard attached to the treadmill and have a computer hooked up to the TV via a DVI connection to allow for clarity so that I can surf the web and actually read web sites.

6 months from now I should be posting on Clutchfans while doing my 3 hours of daily cardio.
