Now 610 is saying that Shaq is out for the season. They said that the "Miami Herald is reporting that he's out for the season." Are they just qouting the hoax? I looked on the Herald's website, nothing there.
Comeon guys we all know that Shaq blows any injury WAY out of proportion and could very well be out 2-3 years with this one... How long did his TOE keep him out before almost a month??
It's real fellas! 610 Sports just reported about 15 mins ago by Rich Lord and Mark Van Demeer, Shaq is done for the season.
Pretty sure that they're all being fooled by the one fake Miami Herald article... everyone wants a scoop though.
Oh . . . . now 610 is backing off of their statement. Are they reading this board to get "news" or did they fall for the Hoax. You would think they were better than that.
There are three pages of this stuff on the Lakers' boards... it's a hoax. And Fox is reporting it as an erroneous report. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3415696
Apparently ESPNews quoted that article on the air, and others quoted them, setting off a nice chain reaction. It's kind of amusing.
CLASSIC! CLASSIC! CLASSIC! This is an absolute BEAUTY! First off, terrible hoax... who is "Haime Gonzalez"? The article is terribly written. It adds the "out for the season" like a footnote in paragraph 4, as if that isn't bold enough to lead with. Ofcourse, after a check of news.google.com, I see, like clockwork, Hoopsworld bites, reporting on their own that Shaq is done for the season. Bill the Crock of **** guy even quotes Wade from the HOAX without saying where he got it from! http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_11731.shtml MSNBC bites, then retracts! Check the link posted here out ... they now blame ESPN! Editor's note: Citing ESPN, MSNBC earlier incorrectly reported that Shaquille O'Neal was sidelined for the remainder of the season. This no doubt means ESPN bit on this fake story initially also. 610 reported it too? My goodness, this guy is a genius. The story is no longer available on that site. All this and we don't even know the extent of the injury yet. He could in fact be out for the season, but there is no evidence of that right now. What is this -- like the 1 millionth exposure of Hoopsworld?
Funny. Hopefully Shaq's knee won't turn out to be bad - he's been a big part in what has become a really fun NBA season. Evan
lol .... Bill Ingram has suddenly retracted that story without explanation I'm listening to 790 online and they're saying that they're not sure yet if it's true, but they continue to cite the "Miami Herald" report. I called them and explained the timeline on this one.
In case you were still not sure http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/basketball/10973381.htm Shaq injury may not be serious; MRI scheduled Thursday By ISRAEL GUTIERREZ igutierrez@herald.com Shaquille O'Neal is scheduled to undergo an MRI Thursday afternoon to determine the extent of his knee injury, which was initially diagnosed as a strained left knee Tuesday. There is reason to believe, though, that the injury, suffered in the opening minutes against the Chicago Bulls, is not very serious. O'Neal was briefly examined in Chicago, and the initial thought was that his pain may be due to a temporary dislocation of the knee that strained the ligaments. There is still a chance that O'Neal could have more serious damage, but the team was encouraged to find no swelling in the knee Wednesday and O'Neal walking with less of a limp than he did Tuesday night after sustaining the injury. Wednesday afternoon ESPN reported a story attributed to The Herald that said O'Neal was out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The Herald never reported such a story, and ESPN immediately retracted it upon learning that the story the network received was an e-mail hoax.
espn1033.com here in Dallas had it as a real story and reported on air, then went to the Bledsoe press conference... Then they said it was a hoax... at least they just admitted that they bought it instead of trying to cover it up, or blame someone else.
