He gets some of the most horrible calls I have ever seen. He has a combination of Power (not as much as Shaq, but still has some) and has a lot of finesse. Tonights call was just horrific and don't understand why in his third year he can't any respect. I haven't watched a lot of Heat games, but I don't think Shaq gets that many horrible calls and in his entire career has never gotten that many bad calls. What do you guys think?
I think Collison should have fouled out three times ...but they didn't call most of the horrible blatant conspicuous fouls he committed. All he can do is foul. And Reggie Evans..you can see him push you all the time..and never get called for it. Yao gets some hrorible calls. Jerome James fouled him...Yao's elbow hook thing didn't even touch James. That ALlen dunk attempt on Yao was a blocking foul though..cuz inside the circle and contact. But...they called it WAY TOO LATE. that and RADMANOVIC PUSHED BOWEN..he would have gotten the ball before it ended up all the way over there. And Dikembe had a bunc hof bad calls no calsl for him tonight too. But yeah I do think Yao is the toughest guy to referee...andyeah I just saw Yao dunk and get fouled by Radmanovic no call. Really this was a BS terrible loss and I'm really upset about it. My head is steaming inside. The SOnics don'tt deserve this.
I have already written a thread about how refs are biased in the NBA. They call it based on "superstar treatment."
We should set up a website , www.stupidref.com or sth, and put detailed analysis on those bad calls. Seriously.
I've never seen a player of Yao's skill level and popularity get whistled for calls like he does. Not only does he not get any calls when he is hammered, he gets called for some of the most insignificant ticky-tac fouls I've ever seen. It is an embarrassment.
This was the first game in a long time where the refs actually called the cheap ones on Yao... and I'm talking about the slapping the ball out of bounds, but inadvertantly bumping freaking Luke Ridnour.... CHEAP FOUL, and the obvious "offensive" foul that you'd never see any ref on any level actually call that if it meant that the player was going to foul out. And, normally, these cheapies come on games where Yao isn't asserting himself, or playing small, and thus the refs don't give him much respect... but Yao was the best player out there BY FAR tonight, and the refs had to have noticed. But, they were horrible the entire game, not just for Yao... lets just hope that we never have this crew again.
We've seen this enough through Yao's three seasons.I know there's a unwritten rule that many rookies are called more than superstars, but isn't Yao a star right now?I hope it's not because he's not a American.
They are terrible with Yao but he will have to keep on learning to play through the officiating. He won't get calls in his favor because of his size.
I think half the problem is visual - Yao, by virtue of his size, simply just "looks" awkward doing some things, which makes the referees more likely to call a foul.
yeah that was bs like a bunch of other calls and scenarios. James bumped the hell out of everyone. Evans held our players, pushed them..to get rebounds. I agree man..please if we can request crews..never get this one. They are ridiculously horrible.
Could be. They say that white men cannot jump. It will be a slap in their faces that an Asian can ball and have mad skills.
Shaq is still the toughest to ref. Wonder if Yao, being such a nice guy who doesn't cuss, intimidate, or glare at the refs, allows the refs to easily make calls against him without fear of retaliation. (Imagine Shaq looming over a ref...) Also, Yao doesn't get the crowd fired up against the refs, like getting a T after a call. T-Mac suggested that Yao should induce more T's. He's got a point...make the refs a focus for the crowd's anger after Yao gets a T for a bs call. Sometimes coaches need to step up and do this.
