Thankfully so. I'm sure I'm one of the only ones, but I am very happy with Simms starting, esp. after the last game against KU. I still hold to my belief that Simms is a better QB for this team than Major. We have so many options coming back into play now. Major's play IMO had actually been regressing the last few weeks. He would never go deep to Roy cause he doesn't have the arm strength. He could never move around in the pocket, due esp. to that surgically repaired knee. He was making some ill-advised decisions too. If Simms doesn't have to go through a game wondering when he'll be pulled and in turn be under pressure, I think he will amaze. I predict a huge day for Chris and the 'Horns- and I'll be there! Hook 'em!!! ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? That makes two of us. Mack's biggest mistake of the year was yanking Chris after he threw taht int. on 3 and 8 against Ulala. We may be 9-1 if it weren't for that. ------------------ "There are two players carrying the Rockets right now. Hakeem and Olajuwon." Isiah Thomas

It sucks that we're already losing 7-0, at least because you know that Simms is going to throw at least one interception that will be returned for a touchdown. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
Very funny. I do feel confident that Simms won't make those types of mistakes in this game, because he doesn't have Major over his shoulder. With the exception of the KU game, I feel that every time Chris has played he's been forcing things so that he won't get pulled for ineffectiveness. I think you'll see a much more relaxed and calm Simms in this game, and the results will show. Hook 'em!!! ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Too bad in that KU game he threw two interceptions returned for scores. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
One was just a 2 point conversion though. I think he'll be ready for a big game. Hopefully at least. We also scored offensively against KU like we never had with Major in there. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? I guess you missed the ULaLa game (all points scored with Major at helm), the OK State game, the UH game, the Missouri game, and the Baylor game. Simms isn't responsible for Hodges' great game. Listen, I agree with you that the ridiculous QB controversy at the beginning of the year may have hurt Simms. However, I believe that Applewhite should've been the QB from the start. He's the greatest QB in UT history, and he shouldn't lose his job because of an injury, plain and simple. It wouldn't even have been an issue if Simms last name was Smith. You can't discredit anything Major's done for this program. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
I agree with what you are saying about Major. I'm not trying to discredit him, and he has done a lot for our program. But I am really impressed with all the potential Simms' has, and I think long-term he may be the better QB. I just don't consider him being in there a negative on Friday the way a lot of people do. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club!
