Peking Duck always takes a little longer to prepare, they should have told you before hand that it would take about 10 minutes. What else did you have and what else was on the menu? $34 for a duck is about right for high end joint like Yao's.

If it took only 10 minutes to roast that duck, it would be still raw. I am sure they have a batch ready to go. Given it is the first day, they probably had no idea how many should be prepared.

peking duck takes over an hour to cook. joints that specialize in them may have them pre-cooked...

^ The Chinese restaurants I've been to serve the rest of the duck on a seperate plate. Chinese people would be ticked off if they paid 35 bucks for the skin and some buns without the best part.

Holy sh*t! Is that real? That looks like the fish from Big Fish. Where'd you find that pic and is there a story that goes with it?

I heard some people catch catfish like those by using their arms as bait. They literally dangle their arms in front of holes where catfish might be hiding and sometimes a big sucker like that will take hold. No kidding.

It's called Noodling. I saw a show on PBS a while back and they were catching catfish as big or bigger than that. They just feel around until they find a hole, stick their hand in and let some giant fish (or whatever happens to be in that hole) bite him....freaks

A couple of pictures of some guy Noodling.

    That catfish is huge.
I challenge someone to post a bigger one.
That thing could not taste good.
