If Clutch were desperate for $, I wonder what donations he could get if he offered lower user numbers are a reward.
screw member numbers. I say we let people bid on orphaned/banned usernames. I mean how great would it be to see the returns of DREAMer, Cincinnati Kid, and Jenna? That'd be ****ing awesome man!
You are thinking of the wrong switch. The .com to .net switch was around Dec '99...because I registered at .com in November so remember it pretty well. You are thinking of the big bbs switch that happened early '99, before I was here. Oh yeah - for the record, I first found cc.com in the Summer of '99, shortly after the Francis trade. So I took a few months to register.
My favorite Keeley post ever... I had made some obscure reference about Keeley and two or three posts later he posted something along the lines of: "I was doing a search for my name and this thread came up. that is all."
No. I remember HeyPee's entrance to the BBS. He was like a kid in a candy store. Going nuts, posting everywhere, starting a bunch of threads. Endless enthusiasm. He wouldn't have been like that if he'd been here before. Oh, and I'm number something-less-than-50. Edit: 35. I just realized I missed the magic number by one. ONE! Damn you Pipman!
I hated heypartner SOOOO much when he started posting. He was seriously just like a kid in a candy store, and I wanted to punch him in the face. Oh well. Too bad I was out off on a mission trip from Sept 97-99. I missed the clutchcity explosion.
2000 NBA draft chat at dot-com after the switch hilarity with you know who good times I picked my user number because of its ontological and eschatological significance.
