The first pack I brough had a couple of Houston Rockets players in there and a guy called Hakeem Olajuwon who seems to have extremely high ststas compared to the other players in my first pack. So I decided to collect Rockets cards....then I started to follow them......and I realise they were the perfect team for me to follow.

1/2 american, 1/2 Iranian, born in Africa, lived in the Netherlands for a year and been in H-Town since early 91. Been a Rox fan since '92 when my bro got me into watching them because of Hakeem's amazing skills (he also was from Africa so that made it intriguing), been IN LOVE with the Rox ever since. What's up Arno_ed? What's the feeling in Holland like about the national team? Are people excited and think they can compete in '06? Also what is going on with my boy Davids, he has fallen off the face of the earth since helping revive Barca last season. Peace.
I think most people holland aren't to confident in the championship. We are all afraid we will not qualify for it The thing we like is that van Basten plays the younger players. But some of them have been disapointments in most games. Like Heitinga, and Van der Vaart. The differance with the new team is that we usd to be the best team on the court in almost every game(talent wise) but we did not play with heart. Now we are not one of the elite teams(talent wise) but we play with alot of Heart. I think we will qualify but it think it will be difficult to be a contender in 2006. But the team is young so it will be ok in a couple of years. We miss a player like Bergkamp was, someone who can create for the others. Van der Vaart should be it but he did not show any progress in the last couple of years. Ofcourse everybody is verry happy with Robben. and a couple of other young guys. And with our strikers(van Nistelrooy and makaay). There are a couple of verry good young players. But i think 2006 is to soon. but we will see. Most people are happy that the team finally shows heart, that has been a while. (losing to Ireland hurt alot).
Born and raised in Manchester, Tennessee which is halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga. I did live for 2 years (while in grad school) in Huntsville, Alabama, but I was coming home every weekend (Huntsville is about an hour and a half from Manchester). I started liking the Rockets in the mid '80s because of Hakeem. And I have been to Houston to see a game (final home game of Yao's rookie season - the Smeg thing). I am hoping that I can come to Houston again to catch a game and make that an annual occurrence, probably starting in 2006.
