Hands down the best dunk of the night was actually the FIRST dunk, JR Smith's behind the back throw down. Talk about creative. I didnt know that was physically possible to do! JR got robbed on the 45 on that score because he was the first dunker.

Josh Smith gets props for working the crowd with the Wilkins jersey. Working the crowd in my opinion is a lost art and is HUGE in the dunk contest.

Once again Nash assists Amare. Hilarious! The dunk via the header was very creative.

Great dunk contest! Kudos all around

The only negative was all of the misses. Man that got painful after a while.

Anderson really stunk it up...he was an absolute joke. Made himself look like a fool.

But anyways, all I know is that Josh Smith was flying tonight! Great hand time, perfect body movement, and spectacular dunks! He's the best since Vince Carter tore it up 3 or 4 years ago.

The Amare dunk off Steve Nash's head was classic!

And yeah JR Smith's first dunk was sick!!!

Smith got that dunk from the NBA Live dunk contest. If he had come up with it by himself it would have been one of the best ever, but stealing it from Live takes away from the creativity.

uhh yeah its still a difficult dunk to do i dont think it matters the tnt guys said that the flip pass by nash was taken from nba street. seeing it in a video game and doing it in real life are totally different levels. plus how does anyone know if he got it from live he could have just thought it up on the spot just how the live programmers did

Both of the Smith boys were creative. Josh's dunk over K-Mart was the one I liked the most followed by the 1st dunk by J.R.Smith.
I liked seeing Nash bounce the ball off his head but I didn't think Amare's dunk was that hard.

What Nash did was show off his soccer skills.

Anderson actually had pretty decent hangtime... he should've just tried to dunk it from the freethrow line straightup.

How many attempts did Anderson try? Isn't it a historic record?

I won't laugh at Anderson because he at least had the courage to PARTICIPATE!

Unlike some young player who is hyped as greatest player ever!

Tracker is VERY slow right now, as we have thousands of users sharing these files... many international fans with no direct TV access to events.

Make sure you seed the files after you D/L - it's only fair.

my list of the best performers in the dunk contest:

    1. Josh Smith
    2. JR Smith (That first dunk was ridiculous)
    3. Steve Nash
    4. Amare Stoudamire
    5. Kenyon Martin
    6. Chris Anderson

Leads me to the conclusion that

    1. Power and height are more important than degree of difficulty
    2. You'd better make your first dunk
    3. If legends be judging you, kiss their legendary butts
    4. So what if you can do a blindfolded behind the back in the air alleyoop to yourself while curing cancer? if you can't throw it down hard, you won't get max points. (see #1)
    5. being first sucks
    6. If K-mart got kicked in the face, Smith could have broken 50 points.
    7. Amare still looks better with nash around.
    8. tall dunkers just don't look as good as shorter guys who get more height.
    9. chris anderson will never be in the dunk competition ever again. in fact, the next white guy to participate in the competition will be when brent barry retires and becomes a judge.

in summary, forget degree of difficulty, height, power, speed, and if possible put in a couple novelty acts to win the crowd and judges. In combination, you will win.

I kinda felt like the Steve Nash stuff shouldn't have been allowed.

I mean, the contest is about the dunk, not about creative ways to pass into the dunk. Don't get me wrong - the dunks were impressive, but this opens up the doors for other players to involve flashy pass-ins.

And... is it me, or do the 3-pt shooters just suck compared to the old-school days? (Larry Bird)

The reason JR lost points on his dunk was cuz he didn't make it the first time, right? If he had flushed it home the first time around, he woulda gotten straight 50, but he had to do it 2 times before he finally nailed the 3rd.

Josh did a great Nique tribute with that old school windmill, so it was worth the points that he got. Watchin that boy in slow motion was nasty, it just looked too clean...

    Some other notes:

In-game power dunkers should not be able to participate: ie Amare, Chris Anderson.

If you can't get the dunk after 5 tries....STOP TRYING. Amare and Chris Anderson both looked stupid tryina do a dunk they couldn't finish.

The teammate should be the side show, not the main event, ie Steve Nash...

At least this one was more entertaining than last year's travesty of Fred Jones winning

the josh smith dunks were all sick

the bounce pass off nash's head though was pretty cool too

but amare and andersen overall proved they didn't belong in the dunk contest at all

    ESPECIALLY Chris Andersen....... Christ........

I feel like having the fancy passes is the only way to keep things fresh. I mean, how many new things can people come up with unless they add new twists? You have to admit, creatively, that Amare's was one of the best all time. Definitely not the most physically impressive, but nonetheless, a classic IMO. This was the most fresh dunk contest in a few years, and a lot of it had to do with how the guys utilized the other players. Remember that Vince Carter's famous dunk was with the help of another player passing to him.
