I recently moved to Fort Worth, TX and is looking for a new house. There are three builders who provide the floor plans that me and my wife like in the area we lived. Me and my wife have decided we may want to choose one of those three. Did anyone have any experience on these three builders? Did anyone finance with them before? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hey dragonsnake,

My wife is a realtor & works with a lot of customers going with a new home builder (she works with customers looking for existing homes as well). She would be happy to help you out. The builders pay her fee so her services are free to you.

Before she became a realtor she worked with a new homebuilder, so she knows all of the tricks of the trade.

Contact her at angelabrown@kw.com or cell 281-704-2581

I hate to say it, but with regards to the building experience, it doesn't matter in many cases - especially during these housing boom times. The reason is that what matters most is the builder (the actual builder, not the name Lennar, Pulte, etc.) that builds the house and those builders and construction supervisors often hop from company to company. That and the same company can have one crew/supervisor that does a great job and in the same subdivision have another that does a lousy job. For every Lennar, Pulte, etc. you'll find both good and bad reviews.

Now that being said, there are some builders that just are terrible in terms of reviews they get. Grand in the Dallas area comes to mind. The key is to get a good inspector as the house is being built to watch for mistakes the builder makes.
