I just read this and thought it would be helpful to post it here considering how many posters here play Halo/Halo 2. Here's the Xbox web site mentioned in the article: http://dw.com.com/redir?destUrl=htt...=3&oId=2100-1043-5580586&ontId=1040&lop=nl.ex
I had an old xbox, but traded it and 5 games that I never played for a new xbox at eb games. I am not sure if eb games always has this promotion running or not, but it is definitely worth the hassle of heading out to a store for a new system.
No problem. Like I mentioned, with all the Halo threads seemed to imply that a number of people here had an Xbox and possibly an older one. After I posted this, I think I told 4 people at school about it and they all have older Xbox's. Considering my school is pretty small and not really big into gaming, I thought that was a pretty high amount. Of course, must not have been too bad considering they still have working Xbox's, but Microsoft has to do this or get faced with lawsuits. I wonder how much this is going to cost them; it sucks to have this tacked on to the problems they've had in making the Xbox itself profitable.
I had a problem with this a little while back. It caused a short which prevented the fan from running which in turn made my Xbox overheat and smell like something was burning. I almost lost my Xbox. I got it fixed, though, and it's alright now.
