With this year's rendition of the Rox clicking at 'the trade deadline', unless Mo can be swapped out for some other deadwood (DA?) the advent of new, improved, upgraded 4s will happen over the summer, if at all. Many on the BBS are lusting after SS. Some are wondering about Boozer's availability to the Rox. Chandler creates a bullish desire in BBSers. DM's long shot has marshalled a longshot fav of many here. But, who might be realistic additions? Wilcox. SAR. Miles (yes, that DuMba**). Radmanovich. Kurt Th. Najera. Songaila. Haslem. PJ. Any of the above could conceivably come. Or none at all.
I don't think Marshall is that much of a long shot. He has obviously heard the rumors that we wanted him and he really hasn't put up great numbers off the bench this year. I really like Chandler's size and game, but I could see the Bulls matching any offer for him. They don't have any real bad contracts. Is Wilcox a FA? If not, I doubt the Clips let him walk.
Dan Gadzuric is one name that hasn't been mentioned yet. He brings many of the same qualities that Cato used to bring (rebounding, blocks, athleticism, can play both 4/5). He averages 8 rebounds in only about 21 minutes a game. I don't think it would take much to get him. Milwaukee has been a disaster and they'll probably more concerned with resigning Redd rather than Gadzuric.
but then we will get al those GOY from holland, and we do NOT want Dutch rocket fans i would love to have Haslem, but i do not see that happening, also chandler wuld be great. But i also do not see that happening. How is the contract situation of Wilcox i would't mind having him as a rocket
Well, I was just looking through stats for a potential 4 for us with the following thoughts: Young Good rebounder Shot blocker Low minuets on current team (available) First the two standards Stromile Swift http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3401 Chris Wilcox http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3606 Some of those that fall into the mold above Dan Gadzuric http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3631 Reggie Evans (not a blocker but he pulls down the rebounds in limited time) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3663 Tony Battie http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3176 Adonal Foyle http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3176 Chris Andersen http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3598 Would you be willing to give up our low first rounder and trade exception to get one of these proven guys???
a rebounder/defender/shotblocker would be excellent, but we must not forget that if this player has no jump shot our offense will stall. swift would be perfect. wilcox, and chandler would be great as well. after that there is a noticable drop off. Jho and pad have more then held thier own at the 4 spot so far. this summer i would be more concerned with finding the PG of this team. since there will be so many good FA PG's available.
From what I hear Wilcox might well be traded. Andersen is 'free' when? SS is likely to be out of (price) range. TE + low 1st, yes. Keep in mind that the play offs is not a lock at this point. Of course if there is no move out for Mo (and Spoon?) then an imbalanced roster flutters even more so.
"Wilcox. SAR. Miles (yes, that DuMba**). Radmanovich. Kurt Th. Najera. Songaila. Haslem. PJ." Haslem..most likely will return to the Heat. WHy wouldn't he..unless something goes wrong or something... Wilcox..I think he could develop..he's not really that good imo. He has a big body. But yeah he'd still be good for us. Miles no way. SAR would be good..I think he's getting old though and I don't know if he can play physical inside..defensively..and well I just love how Howard defends the pick and roll..and lots of other stuff like rotating. And he's makin tons of shots within the offense. Radmanovich would be awesome. Are there any signs of him leaving the Sonics? I'd love to get him. He can shoot the 3 and he can drive ...rebounding no. I'd put him at the 3 or backup 4 with Tmac at the 2 or 3 if Wesley or whoever is in. He'd be really good. Thomas would be good..even though he's old..him and PJ Brown are quite similar imo. I think Thomas has better midrange shot. They are both old though. They aren't really that fast either. Juwan Howard is actually pretty mobile. NAJERA AND SONGAILA NO WAY. Please no. I don't like Najera. And Songaila cannot shoot. I've never seen him really do anything good.
I don't like Songaila either for this team...but he has solid range. Don't say things totally incorrect like that.
I'd love to bring in Gadzuric or Andersen, but for a first rounder? No. Chris Andersen=energy, defense, rebounding..great shot blocker, plus he's a local guy.
I like this guy: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/anderson_varejao/index.html?nav=page anyone remember him last time we played the cavs?
My personal favorite is Ben Wallace but, no chance in HELL we could get him. Cato is a poor mans B. Wallace and I doubt we could get him either, but just for kicks, how AWESOME would this team be w/ Big Ben?
I would love to get Troy Murphy somehow. I don't know what it would take to pry him away from the Warriors, maybe taking on one of the rediculous contracts they signed at the same time (Spoon for Fisher or Foyle, for example). Murphy's contract is big (once the extension kicks in), but he would be a lot more worth it than Taylor or Howard. Does Mullin realize how stupid some of those contracts were yet?
Chris Andersen plays with intensity. I've seen all the N.O. games since Boki got traded there, Andersen plays like he doesn't want to go back to Community College.
Stromile's rebounding really worries me. One of the most important jobs I want "my" PF to do out there on the floor is rebound well and consistently. His athletism and shot blocking skill is impressive though. I will not necessarily want to pay over $7 per season for Stromile Swift.
Juwan Howard is better than any 4 that played with the Shaq-Kobe Lakers during their championship years. Discuss.
