I voted on the Jon Barry trade. I didn't see anything in particular in any of the games listed that made me think they suddenly "got it." But after Barry joined the team, I started noticing a trend towards more controlled passing, smarter play, and players moving better without the ball. The Wesley trade solidified it and now this team passes like they've been playing together all their lives. That's not to say that if we suddenly lost Barry to injury that we would suck again, but I think he was the biggest proponent in getting the ball rolling the right direction.

The David Wesley trade--- without him we would still be seeing JJ limp up and down the court... Its a hard call for me between him and Barry to vote for, but DW does start and get more playing time and his D is just as good or better than Cats was last year and the 3s are starting to fall better than JJs were so I feel we got a 2 for 1 deal...

I'll go with the Wesley trade. They're 19-6 since then. If that's not a turnaround, I don't know what is.

The McMiracle against the Spurs was huge, but the Rockets came out the next game against the Mavs and got blown out on their home floor, so that wasn't much of a turning point.

i picked other... i think the turning point was the trade that sended jimmy out rather than wesley coming in. when jimmy went out tracy became SF and we had sura and wesley running. jimmy is a good player but the offense was just terrible. sometimes he would hold on to the ball or he would slow down the game so much that it kills you to watch it. now our back court can run and pass which makes our offense the best.

The addition by subtraction trade (Wesley) turned the Rockets into legitimacy... 2 Legit 2 Legit 2 Quit

it was a tossup between the Wesley trade and the Dallas game, but I like oncourt moments/games to be the more appropriate epoch. The offense was just beautiful that game, we didn't dip under .500 anymore, national tv, tons of assists, great TEAM performance as well as individual freak-show from TMAC, and as stated above, it was the Mavs, who rightfully haven't even considered us rivals for the past couple of years.

To win by excelling in offense, something that no one thought we could do, and outgun one of the top 4 gunning-teams in the league, it showed a lot of what could be in store if the team kept it together. so far, we've kept it together and I don't think it was a coincidence that it REALLY jelled in this game.

The Wesley Trade. His arrival took alot of the pressure of Tracy on Defense. hence Tracy became more of a offensive threat then prior to the Trade. he also made our Primeter Defense alot better.

    Trading for TMac.

I know that was not the key to getting this season righted, and I know you are talking about the recent chemistry and surge,

    But without that trade??

Can you see Barry or Sura or Wesley even being here much less playing with Steve or Cat?

    All the moves mattered...

    Tmac, Sura, Deke, Barry, Wesley

We have been on a big curve, now that we have made the turn we are on the straight away- put the pedal to the metal.

For me clearly it is the Wesley trade. I believe we are 20-6 since that trade. That pretty much says it all.

Keep in mind though, the Barry trade wasnt too far before the Wesley trade. Didnt that trade happen within a weeks time of the Wesley one? With that in mind you could almost just say the turning point was "the end of December when we made the trade(s) to acquire Barry AND Wesley."

They brought us better ballmovement, more assists, less turnovers and better perimeter defense. They complimented our 2 stars, Yao and Tmac, very well and helped improve their game which allowed our stars to improve everyone elses games.

I voted other cause I couldn't decide but I can see an argument for the bottom 3, Sura, Barry and Wesley. Time is a good one too.

I voted for the Wesley trade...but the Barry trade and Sura off of IL were close seconds...19-6 since the wesley trade!

My reaasoning...Sura took some time to get back to full strength, Barry didn't contribute immediately, but Wesley just hit the ground running....

It might be that I'm voting for the Wesley trade b/c it was the last thing that happened since the Rocket's great play...it's alot of things really...

Sura off IL + Barry + Wesley + JVG Handing the Team to TMAC + Time + Padgett/Deke Play = Rocket newfound success

I would have to say Jon Barry trade started it all. Then Sura coming back and also the Wesley trade. In all honesty I would have chosen all three if it was an option as I think they all sort of continued the momentum and built confidence in our team.

T-Mac scoring 48 in a lost duel with Dirk

This is where T-Mac finally got in a groove in this offense. The trades came after this turn around and they only added to the recipe. That game showed Tracy how he fit in on this team.

After that we still had to figure things out, but I saw that as the catalyst. Tracy was awesome that game and we almost beat a team that has dominated us as of late.

After that we beat SA in that wild finish and so on. We became a team to beat.

    Other:

It was "the conversation" that T-Mac had with JVG. Until that time, we were still forcing the ball into Yao, T-Mac couldn't find his rhythm, and the offense was a mess.

After T-Mac had the conversation with JVG, we saw immediate improvement - as if our offense had been completely re-structured. The addition of Wesley and Barry certainly helped, as well as Padgett picking up his game...

... but IMHO it was "the conversation" that turned the tide.

the barry trade and the wesley trade solidified the turnaround but if i had to pick one point in the season to point to and say that's when it all started clicking on offense it's the dallas game when tmac score 48.
