Bush is not president yet. No matter how you feel about the manual recounts and such, he still hasn't won the election. Gore is very, very close. Way too close to call seeing how there are 7,000 overseas votes yet to be counted, and Gore is a lot closer than 7,000 votes.

Get it through your head, the idiot ain't president just yet, quit claiming he is.

Thank you and have a nice day.

    Who on here said that?

You know, I object to blanket criticisms. I am a Republican. I never said that Bush was President. But I'm chastized (along with a good many other Republicans who have not yet said that Bush is President) just because some unnamed Republicans have supposedly said that Bush is President (And I haven't seen anyone say that yet).

Sorry, mrpaige. I just saw an infuriating interview on MSNBC.

Clutch, could you change title to "some", thanks.

DUDE, I don't have a lot of hate in me, it's just that I've been watching this stuff and listening to the Bush camp saying that Bush has won the election and various Republicans in Florida saying the same thing, that it finally pissed me off enough. I really appreciate you reading my reviews though. I'm sure we can find something in our movie tastes where we agree on something! [IMG]

Again, no offense to any Republicans who do realize that the race isn't over yet.

    Rocketman,
I know that over the last week or so we have clashed quite a bit politically. But I do agree with a good deal of your reviews. Hell, now I check the site BEFORE I go to a movie.
Oh, My God... I am depending on a Democrat!! ARGGHH!!! LOL

DUDE, again, I really, really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, we've lost a lot of my reviews due to a hard drive problem, but new ones (The Yards, Little Nicky, Men of Honor, Charlie's Angels, and Bagger Vance) should be up early this week.

Well, hate to ruin the lovefest, but I believe Bush would be the president without selective manual recounts (the overseas votes are historically republican). Bush basically won fair and square. Whether you believe there was irregularity or not, there is no remedy for it. I think it's possible that the Bush camp believes they are going to be denied by the courts in their attempt to get the recounts stopped. What they are doing by Bush talking in advance about choosing a cabinet will further give the impression that Gore is stealing the election (which I believe he is) when the election gets overturned. If Gore ends up with more votes after the manual recounts, I believe Bush should concede.

There's plenty of infuriating things being said and going on. Heck, I can't watch a lot of it because it often just peeves me off.

I get tired of all the crap from both sides. One side says something, maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. One side talks about respect for the rule of law and the process on one hand and then talks about how it might challenge the law on the other hand. Either you're for the rule of law or you're against it. There is no in-between. You don't get to pick and choose among the laws to find out which ones you will follow.

One side talks about how lawsuits are destructive to the process and then goes out and files a lawsuit. Either lawsuits are destructive to the process or they aren't. If you ever have any intentions of filing a lawsuit, don't talk about them as being destructive.

Gore is the one who won this election. Why do you think that all the exit polls showed Gore winning Florida, but the vote-count showed otherwise? Because thousands of Gore votes were thrown out. When people responded to the polls, they thought they had voted for Gore, but some had actually been discounted. Why are republicans so afraid of a manual recount? Are they worried that the "will of Florida" might properly be expressed, giving Gore the victory?

I would have to say that I'm sick of the Democrats saying that Gore has won the popular vote before all the overseas ballots have all been counted.

    ZRB,
You have got to be kidding me to say Gore won the election Based on the exit polls! Do you really think the exit poll people talk to everyone? Do you think everyone TELLS the exit poll people the truth? Come on, that is a lame comment you made.

You want a manual recount? Fine. But why just four countie for Gore? Why have a democratic Board be the ruling party on the votes?
If you didnt see the Press Conference late last night, you didnt hear how some of the people in that county voted. Some of those people voted for 6 and 7 candidates for President! Do you want to count that for Gore too?

Freak, now we've clashed a bit lately so Ill try and respond with non sarcastic tones.

    1. The overseas vote does not typically vote republican. You may be confused with FL overseas votes typically being republican. Which is true. But the bulk of the overseas votes come out of CA, where Gore dominated Bush. Last election after all the overseas ballots were counted, Clinton gained 770,000 votes over Dole.

    2. The vaunted military vote out of FL may not swing Bush's way. Lets not forget that Bush was drafted, and daddy found a way to make sure he didnt have to hit the lines. That may not sit well with military. Being ex military, it certainly hit a nerve with me. But supposedly Gores camp is stating that they didnt go after the military vote like Bush did, but they did go hard after the vacationing Jewish votes. Which may or may not offset things.

Dude...actually why would people lie about who they voted for? What purpose would that serve. Exit polling 99.99 percent of the time gets it right. I believe in ZRB's comments. I think it is in fact true. I think that is the reason why Gore was given FL initially. That the people thought they were voting for Gore, and it didnt happen that way.

I guess you never heard of a SECRET ballot? That means you dont have to tell anyone who you voted for. I am one person who would NOT tell an exit poller jack****. So I am inclined to believe that there are at least a few more people like me. Funny how, even the liberals that are being interviewed on TV have admitted that Democrats answer more Exit polls than Republicans historically.

For them being secret ballots, how would republicans know who actually said what to exit pollers? Are you more inclined than I to not tell exit pollers how you voted? I certainly didnt vote for Bush.

And whos to say if Republicans asked fellow republicans, how do they know for sure that they werent lied to also? I mean if can discredit Gores exit poll wins then the exact same things can be said to discredit (just as easily might I add) republican CLAIMS that fellow republicans keep their ballot secret more.

Then why did it not strike a nerve with you that Gore is guilty of the same thing ?

Gore spent his time as a reporter,I guess his daddy didn't have anything to do with that [IMG] Thats usually how it is with politicians sons. [IMG]

    A point...

Though I voted for George W, I feel Bush did not help his cause by leaking news of his transition team and possible staff even though this is far from a done deal. I realize he is trying to appear "presidential" but it comes off differently.
