Put your personal politics aside. The more attacks like this go on the less legitimacy Bush will have if President among Democrats, and the less legitimacy Gore will have with Republicans.
Here is the article I am talking about:
    http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,34812,00.html

Isnt this just another case of Gore still scratching for any vote HE can get meanwhile trying to cast a shadow of doubt on a possible Bush administration?

    In a word....NO

Or it could a plan by Bush to hide the fact that he knows he indeed did lose FL. That he indeed lose the Popular vote, which in retrospect would lead to him also losing the Electoral college, yet still claim the presidency.

I am sorry, but did you even read the article? Apparently not.
The GORE campaign is saying that people 'MIGHT' have been corrupt by the Republicans.
Take off your blinders for a second. Dont you think that if Bush wins the election, that QUITE a few people wont feel like he is a legitimate President, therefore DIVIDING our country?
The ONE thing this country has been able to count on is the smooth transfer of power from one party to another. Yet BECAUSE of all the accusations by Gore and his people that smooth transfer of power wont happen.

Ummm. Ok tried to keep a civil discussion.

What does me anwering whether or not I believe this will divide the nation, have to do with me reading that article? With or without reading it....NO it will not divide the nation. In one year no one will even talk about it outside of trivia.

My second comment was my left wing response to your right wing response of:

"Isnt this just another case of Gore still scratching for any vote HE can get meanwhile trying to cast a shadow of doubt on a possible Bush administration?"

You know tit for tat. Still doesnt have anything to do with weather or not I read that article.

But since you want to cloud things so much, let me make it very clear to you.....Yes I did read that very short article. And please explain to me how investigating SUCH OBVIOUS possible fraud (and yes DUDE if what is stated in that article actually happened then it is fraud, and it needs investigated. Unless you believe in such fraudulant tactics, which wouldnt surprise me)would divide the nation? Are you kidding me.

Your saying that if the people found out that Republicans fixed the vote that people would be divided? Or that if its found out that Gore tried to ficticiously create such accounts that people would be divided over him either? I think either way, people would be pretty much against either one.

That's a tricky issue. Here's a question for you. Knowing that there are allegations of racially based intimidation and possible election tampering, what would be more divisive: publically scrutinizing the allegations or turning a blind eye to them?

Investigating them of course will look like a political move and in fact, largely, it would be.

On the other hand, ignoring them will only reinforce people that want to believe the allegations are true. In other words, it may appear to someone that believes racism affected the election, that a lack of any investigation may be due to the fact that the government doesn't care about members of that race.

So to answer your question, yes, I think this will further politically divide our nation, but IMHO that is better than further racially and socially dividing the country.
